Chapter 5

After Jennsen finished her drink she decided to give the two love bird some privacy and was sitting in a café when she overheard a young woman talking to an older woman who was probably her mother; “Mom, you have to live a little.” Said the younger one.

“I’m perfectly happy with my life as it is.” Her mother protested.

“But you are forty eight and nothing exciting has ever happened to you.”

That got Jennsen thinking; she was hundred and seventeen years old and nothing exciting has ever happened to hereither, and that is ten times as bad as the forty eight year old. Sure the Faery Festivals where fun, but that’s because you get so drunk on Faery Liquor that you would find a high school math lesson fun.

At that moment she decided that she would live a little and be more spontaneous, so she looked around to see what she could do first, and then it hit her…

Jennsen immediately dialed Tarren’s number and it rand for a while then she picked up; “Hey Jennsen.”

“Hey Tarren are you free at the moment?”

“Yeah, what did you have in mind?”

“You’ll see, just meet me at The Musical Café.”

“When?”

“Dude, like now, I’m already here!”

“Um ok, but…”

“No time for buts, just get here.” And Jennsen hung up the phone.

A half hour later Tarren finally showed up; “Hey crazy.”

“Come on, we need to go?” Said Jennsen dragging Tarren forward, then stopped and Tarren looked up to see a Body Piercing store.

“Why?” She asked.

“I want to get a belly ring.” Jennsen replied casually.

“Again; why?”

“Because I realized that I was wasting my life away by being boring.”

“But you have your whole life ahead of you.”

“Why postpone the fun stuff? I can be a boring stick in the mud when I’m older.” With that she entered the store, dragging Tarren inside.

“You are so crazy!”

“So I’ve been told.” She stopped at the front desk, “Hi.”

“Hi, how can I help you?” Asked the bald man behind the desk, who was covered in tattoos and piercings.

“I want to get my navel pierced.”

“Do you have a parent or legal guardian with you?”

“No, but I am emancipated.” She replied giving him the legal documents that proved it.

“Ok then follow me.” The two girls followed him to the back room with a purple curtain.

Less than fifteen minutes the guy was done and the two friend went for ice cream. Jennsen lifted her shirt half way to look at it for the tenth time and Tarren shook her head.

“What?” Asked Jennsen.

“You’re having a midlife crisis at seventeen.” Replied Tarren with a smile.

“That may be, but it’s fun. I highly recommend it.”

“Now that you had your spontaneous moment, are you done being crazy?”
