It was a blur.
My trunk was packed, hair was done, robes tucked away, and I was back in my plain khaki skirt and sky blue shirt tucked into it. I had on my black lace up boots with white socks and my wand stowed into my knapsack. Erin and Terry had gotten into another argument about Quidditch and Padma had lost several hair clips, resulting in a a tantrum.
The teachers handed out notices about not using magic ("Actually?!" Amber exclaimed) and we all sailed back across the lake, boarding the train. The ride back was full of too many sweets, exploding snap and several quidditch debates and then almost everyone had to change into muggle clothes and I waited. I was prepared and had already changed.
It took quite a while for all of us to get off the platform, due to the fact that we weren't supposed to alarm the muggles by all bursting out of a solid wall, therefore a ancient station guard let us through in pairs so we didn't attract unwanted attention.
"You must come and stay this summer," said Ron, "the three of you -- I'll send you an owl."
"Okay!" I agreed. "Just as long as you lot come to Diagon Alley at least once, we can go for ice cream!"
"Deal!" Hermione said happily, waving to her mum.
"Ready, are you?" Someone grunted.
I spun around and was nearly face to face with a mustached man who was looking furiously at Harry. Behind him stood a horsey faced woman and porky boy that must be Harry's 'family'.
"Have a good holiday Harry," I said, hugging him and departed, waving to mum and running into her arms.
I had made it through.
