After school I walked into my house and heard the football game on from upstairs. I dropped my bad and hurried up the stairs and entered my sister's room. "Who's winning?" I asked Cassie as my sister was watching the game intensely with my younger brother Dean.

"Cowboys of course." She laughed as she shoved her face with popcorn.

My sister is the definition of beautiful. She has long chestnut hair with blonde highlights, and perfect olive skin. And her eyes are this beautiful blue color that go deeper than the ocean. She loves to wear dresses and makeup, and she always make sure she looks perfect. Though she's anything but a girly-girl. She's so much like a guy, I would call her a tom-boy if she didn't dress the way she did. I sat down on Cassie's bed next to them and when a commercial came on I pulled out my phone and showed Cassie a picture of the Semi dress I want. Cassie is always my go to person for fashion advice. "What do you think?" I asked as I held out my phone.

"It's really pretty Evie. Your going to look great." As she told me her opinion her voice went up four octaves, as if she was trying to sound more feminine. I just shrugged it off and went back to looking at dresses. Football never interest me too much, though spending time with my family did, so I would often watch with them.

"So what are you going to wear Cassie?" I asked her.

"To Semi?" She asked and I nodded. "I don't know, maybe a romper or jumpsuit." She shrugged. For as much as cassie loved fashion I'm surprised she didn't show more interest in her semi dress.

"You know it's Semi." I said with a little shock.

"Ya, so?"

"Soooo, you wear a jumpsuit to homecoming, Semi it's much more formal." I told her in a 'duh' tone.

"So your saying a dress?" She asked as if she completely lost interest and didn't expect to wear a dress to homecoming.

"Ya, a dress." I laughed.

Before she can say anything else Dean shushed me as the game came back on. "You and Cas can talk about dresses and girl stuff later, the game's on."

And with that, the smiled return to Cassie's face and I stayed quiet for the rest of the game.

That night at dinner my father placed the chicken, corn and mashed potatoes on the table as Cassie, Dean, Sam, Jack and I sat around it. The whole family grabbed hands as my father began to say grace like he always does before meals. "Dear lord, we thank you for the food on this table and the roof over our head, and most importantly the people around us. Please give us all good health and good futures. Help us on our right path and and help us to salvation. And please lord, help those whom lost their way from you. Help those gays and transgenders who have sinned ever so much. Help them find there way back to the rightful path."

"Amen" Everyone said besides Cassie. I dont know why she didn't say it. She is as religious as the rest of us. Though something seemed off, she seemed off. She didn't quite seem herself and I can't put my finger on why not.

After my mother died my father turn to alcohol for comfort. Though after ending up in the hospital because of it, he turned to God instead. I have to say it was a real miracle for the lord himself because it turned my father around completely. He hasn't had a drink in over six years and he's been the best man he could be. Always praying for those in need. And always wanting to bring people who lost their way from God back to the rightful path. If only I knew at the time, the people my father praying for so hardly, the people he called sinners, we're sitting beside me. Beside him, and he didn't need help finding his way back to God, he needed his help finding his way back to himself. If only I could've seen it sooner.
