Not Exactly Human

She got a cooler power than me!

Maddie  

I pointed back at Chase an Olivia turned just in time to see his eyes fluttering.

"Chase!" She squealed. He opened his mouth, but nothing came out. 

"Chase?" She asked quieter.

"Hey Liv." He rasped. Liv smiled and gave him a huge hug.  Before long Chase was sitting up and talking. 

"I brought up some dinner." Dielin said bringing in a HUGE tray of salad and soup.

"One for Maddie, one for Liv, and one for me." He continued distributing bowls. 

"What about me?" Chase whined.

"You get soup sick boy." I said passing him the bowl of mushroom soup.

"How did you know I liked mushroom?" Chase asked after a few minutes.

"Because dummy, everyone likes mushroom." Dielin said punching Chase gently.

"I don't." Liv  and I said in unison.

Dielin and Chase grinned and Dielin ate a HUGE spoonful of mushroom soup and grabbed me and gave me a BIG kiss. I could taste the mushroom.

"Ha! Now you have mushroom breath!" Dielin taunted.

"Hmm mushroom breath or not kissing...toughie!" I giggled.  

Liv laughed too until she saw Chase about to do the same thing.

"Oh no you don't!" She yelled jumping up. Chase frowned.  Liv sat back down and we continued eating. Chase seemed a little stung. 

When Dielin and I  were walking out Liv made a big deal about hugging Chase. Suddnely Liv planted a kiss right on his mouth. Dielin's  mouth popped open and Chase wrapped his arm around her waist while she stretched up to hooking her arms around his neck. They were hardly aware of me and Dielin backing out. 

It was only a couple minutes until she ran into my/our room. 

"Give me my phone." She demanded.

"Okay." I  handed her the phone an purse. She smiled and flopped on the bed. After a few minutes of texting she looked up.

"Where you with Ben this morning?" She asked.

"Ya. Didn't I tell you?" I asked innocently. I heard Liv turn off her phone and roll over.

"So you an Chase huh?" I  asked winking. I knew she was dumping her boyfriend when she had been texting. 

"Personally I think he's cute. You two are adorable together by the way. He's all tough trying to protect you, but gentle when he actually talks to you. I wish me and Dielin were like you two. Which is pathetic because, well, we're dating and you're not. I think if you're debating you need to date that boy." I continued.  I saw all of her doubts disappear. I smiled glad I had helped her.

"Thanks Dr. Phil, but it's bedtime." She said nervously. I nodded knowingly and climbed into the top bunk.

When I woke up in the morning I realized Liv should get her power today. 

"How ya feelin kiddo?" I asked hanging my head down over the bunk. I giggled as she jumped.

"I'm not sure. I'm feeling a little weird. Tingly actually." She admitted. 

"Come with me!" I yelled. I jumped off my bunk and grabbed her hand dragging her down to Dr. Christian's lab.  He widened his eyes and I nodded excitedly. 

"Excuse me Olivia, but may I please run some tests on you?" He asked kindly. 

"Oh now you're going to be sweet and polite?" She asked innocently . I saw the muscles in his jaw tighten. 

"Please?" He asked again.

They had a mini stare down, but she caved and nodded. He put her in the chamber. 

"You know what to do right?" He asked me. 

I nodded and texted Dielin. He ran downstairs panting. I saw Dr. C press the button which let Liv hear.

"Quick call an ambulance! Chase fell down the stairs and there is ALOT of blood! Help!" He yelled very convincingly. Liv started banging on the door.

"Let me out! I need to help him!" She yelled. 

"I'm afraid not Olivia." Dr. C said. Liv's eyes flashed dangerously and she began shouting curse words. Suddenly thunder and lightning started hitting the house. I looked into the chamber and Liv was floating throwing lightning and killing the lights. I screamed and ran at Dielin as the chamber exploded sending huge shards of glass everywhere. 

"LIV STOP!" We shouted over the storm she was creating. 

She looked at us angrily and shook her head. I turned and saw Chase run down into the room and her power evaporated as she caught sight of him. When she hit the ground he was right there.

"What the hell is going on?!" He yelled when no one moved to help her. Olivia passed out and Chase picked her up and carried her upstairs. A few minutes later he came back down. 

"Now who wants to tell me what you did to her?" He demanded.

"Oh I know, how about the fucking psychopath Dr. Christian." He added turning to him.

"Uh she is having a minor allergic reaction to the vaccine?" He said unconvincingly.  

"Tell him the truth." Dielin said suddenly. 

"If you don't- we will." I added. 

Dr. Christian sighed but started telling him. 

"What we gave Olivia wasn't a vaccine." He began.

"No shit Sherlock." Chase interrupted.  Dr. Christian frowned.

"Anyway, it was a chemical to change her. Into a mutant. She is obviously a storm mutant." Dr. Christian trailed off smiling. 

"Wow. You sound pretty pleased with your self." 

"I am. It was an amazing science feat that I completed." 

Chase smiled and nodded. Without warning he pulled back his fist and punched Dr. Christian square in the face.

Dielin pulled Chase back before he could get in another hit. 

I went over to Dr. Christian as Dielin dragged Chase upstairs. 

"Doc?" I asked when he moaned groggily. I giggled and ran upstairs to congratulate Chase on something I'd wanted to do for years. When I got into Chase's room he was sitting next to Olivia who was telling him what we told her. 

"You and Dielin were in on it?!" He asked angrily. 

"I'm sorry-" I began.

"Save it! Liv was right when we met you. You're a bitch and he's your slave." 

I admit I nearly cried and ran into Dielin's room.

"Whats up?" He asked lightly seeing the look on my face.

"Chase called me a bitch and he said Liv said it when we first met." I couldn't control the tears and in less the two seconds Dielin was holding me. 

"Well you called Liv a whore when you first met her. So I guess you're even." Dielin said trying to make me smile. I started crying a little more. 

"Baby it's okay!" He rushed.

I smiled at the fact he was being like a real boyfriend. For once. 

"Wait....why are are you acting all boyfriendy? Where did you think to be like this?" 

"Honest? When Liv would get upset I saw Chase do it for her. And I really love you Maddie and would do anything for you." 

My mouth popped open and I threw him on the bed for some kissing. 

"Sweet. I don't think Chase gets this." Dielin murmured.  I giggled and we had a little fun.
