Christmas and a not so happy new year

I get dressed then go downstairs to an empty house again, today isn't so bad because it's christmas and Michael is home early today so by the time I get home from seeing the family he should be home. I grab an apple on the way to the car then I drive to mom and dad's, well I timed it perfectly as my stomach started making those annoying whale noises as soon as I pull up outside the house so I can finally eat my apple.

"hey princess, merry Christmas" dad smiles and hugs me

"merry Christmas dad" I smile hugging him back "you still got the presents haven't you?" I asked closing the door behind me

"yeah, I put them straight in your room"

"ok thanks"

"you're welcome"

"hey everyone, merry Christmas" I smile walking into the living room

"merry Christmas" they all smile back, I sit down next to Jess who has a crying Daisy on her lap

"tried tickling her cheek?"

"no, I didn't know you do that to stop a baby from crying" she says and tries it, the cries stops and turns into little laughs "wow, how did you know that?"

"I remember Dee Dee doing it with Taryll when he would cry, she said it's cause he wants to play"

"if only I knew that sooner" she laughs

"what was I like as a baby?" I ask mom and dad

"you was an angel" dad smiles

"yeah unless you wasn't in the room" mom laughs "you'd used to cry as soon as your father would leave the room, we used to have to distract you just so he could go to work"

"and by god you was loud, could hear you outside the house" dad adds

"at least I didn't cry as soon as you walked into the room" I smirk

"true"

"what about me?" Joey asks

"where do we start" they smile

"you was like Daisy"

"so quiet? and only noisy when wanting something?"

"yeah until you started the milestones, you would be so hyper" dad says

"see you two was loud and hard work and I was the real angel" Lucy says

"yeah right" me and Joey say at the same time

"what?"

"I would sleep with earphones in and under 2 or 3 pillows and I could still hear you" Joey says

"I don't think I actually did sleep" I add

"seriously?"

"yep" mom smiles

"ah man"

"anyway enough about us cause I hate old stories of me growing up" I smile getting up then walking into the kitchen to get a drink "where's Ben?" I ask walking back into the living room

"on holiday in France"

"wow lucky him"

"I know, I'm jealous" Lucy agrees

"who wants presents?" mom asks

"meee" Joey and Lucy yell loudly like little kids

"Scarlett, what's up? you're not so enthusiastic about it" dad says

"I'm fine, don't wanna get so hyped up and go home excited cause it isn't fair on Michael"

"thought he was quiting it?" Joey asks
