Love Awaits

"Ashton, is there something you want to tell me?" I ask after a few seconds of silence.

"Yeah, as I was saying, you know someone from my band, I remember him taking you to parties and stuff." He pauses.

"Well, you remember Calum right?" He says nervously.

I gulp, "Calum, as in.. Calum Hood?" I start to breathe a lot slower.

"Yeah, Calum Hood" he looks away.

"Oh, okay" is all I manage to say.

The rest of the ride is silent.

Calum Hood and I dated when I was 16. We were deeply in love, that's what I thought at least.

Before our 1 year anniversary I caught him kissing another girl so I forced him to explain what's going on.

-2 years ago-

"Calum, please explain everything I just saw" I say slamming the front door shut.

"Nevaeh please calm down" he says quietly and tired, I try not to kiss him because he's so cute when he's tired.

"No Calum, tell me everything." I practically beg.

"I don't love you." the poison comes out of his mouth.

I couldn't say anything, I just stood there, motionless, I hold back all my tears.

"How many people have you been doing stuff behind my back?" I say trembling in my words.

"Naveah lets not talk about this right-" I cut him off.

"No Calum, tell me now." I feel tears rushing down my cheeks.

"I've been doing a girl every one or two months.." He sighs.

"You are my everything Calum, my everything, my sunshine, my stars and my love, it hurts to know that I'm not the same to you." I cry even harder.

"We're not over, got it?" He's angry.

"Calum I'm going-"

"No you're not, you stay right there" he grabs my wrist and pushes me to the floor.

"Calum please don't do this." I cry even more.

"No Nevaeh, you're such a dumbass little girl. Listen to me." He pushes me against the wall which makes me scream in agony.

"You're gonna love me more tonight" he smirks and grabs my thighs.

"Calum please I don't want to do this." I beg.

"Too bad" he chuckles and rips my shorts off.

Then we hear the door slam open which makes Calum drop me which hurts my back even more.

"What the fuc- Calum get the fuck away from her!" I hear the person, but I can't quite picture who it may be.

"No, get out now or I'm gonna beat you." Calum threatens.

The rest of the night concludes with stranger man rescuing me by beating up Calum. I don't remember much from that. But I can still feel all the pain Calum gave me, it still hurts when I think about him.

"Naveah, everything's alright with him now, he changed for the better and you don't have to be afraid, he explained what he did to you in tears, he misses you." Ashton explains slowly.

I just sit there breathing heavily.

"Ashton, I can't go to your band practice and reunite with him, not now not ever." I explain.

"Nevaeh this is the right time to forgive and you guys can become friends at least." He looks into my eyes.

"I-I don't know" I look away to hold everything back.

"Think about it, come to my house at 6 cause that's when were gonna practise" he says.

I stay silent and nod.

"Now, show me where my classes are, Holly, I thought of that nickname thanks to your last name, it can be a special nickname." He smiles.

I couldn't help but smile too.

"That's a cute nickname." I say.

The rest of the day concludes with me showing Ashton around the school and introducing him to my friends and taking him to his (and some of OUR) classes.

I guess I'll go to the practice but ONLY for Ashton, not to reunite with Calum.

After school Ashton goes on a different bus to go to his friend Michaels house. He's apparently in the band too., but he says he'll be home with all the band members at 6 so well meet up there.

I'm getting ready to go to his house while my mother asks a bunch of questions on who he is.

"Mom he's a friend, he lives next door." I say trying to find my jacket.

"Ahh he's an Irwin, great people. Okay, be home by nine and dinner will be in the oven when you get back." She walks out of the porch area.

When I ring the doorbell I never expected it to be Calum.

"Nevaeh! Long time no see." He smirks.
