Andy's POV
Tonight was the night. The night I get to hang out with Estrella Carlile all by myself just like we did on the beach after those assholes jumped me.
There's something about her that draws me in. I just want to be around her more and more.
She's different, in a good way. Like way different from any person that I have ever met. Elle thinks differently; instead of looking at all the down sides of things all the time or pin pointing every flaw in someone or something she tries to find something positive out of everything which makes sense because she's only trying to repair herself. And I can her slowly getting better, but even through some of the happy times I have with her like at the beach I could see that there was something clouding her thoughts that she holds in.
I am going to take Elle to this place that I go with my friends sometimes called The Cart where they have a bunch of stores and food carts and different things to do and it's good place to hang out and walk around, so I figured I would take her there. Plus it isn't very expensive.
I put on a pair of black jeans my black shoes, a black and white striped tank top, combed my hair and styled it, put on a little bit of cologne and deodorant and checked myself in the mirror to make sure everything was fine. Even with just that little look at myself I could feel my hands getting clammy and my stomach tying in knots due to nervousness.
I walked into my moms room to get her opinion on what I was wearing since she has a sense of style and she's a girl.
"You look good honey." She smiled.
"Thanks mom." I replied feeling some relief.
"Here I'm gonna give you fifty bucks," she said handing over five ten dollar bills.
A little stunned I thanked her and gave my mom a hug then drove to Elle's house in my old red truck.
The nervousness really built up when I turned the corner to get to her white two story house on Watson Street. This is it. I am here now. I nervously walked up to her porch and rang the doorbell switching my weight from one foot to another as I anxiously waited. Elle looking beautiful as ever wearing a plaid cardigan, a black tank top, jean shorts, black combat boots, and her long curly black hair trailing down her back, opened up the door with a big smile across her face and welcomed me in.
"Hi Andy," she said smiling.
"Hey." I replied. "Are you ready?" I asked her.
"Yeah I'm just gonna grab my phone," she said walking down the hall. "Bye Casey bye Sawyer!" She called out when she got back.
"Wait Estrella! I need to take your picture." Casey told us jogging into the living room.
"Here use my phone," Elle said handing Casey her phone then I put my arm over Elle's shoulders and she put hers around my torso as Casey took the picture.
"Okay bye guys have fun."
"Bye Casey," Elle said then we walked to my truck and drove to The Cart.
"Do you ever sit up and look out the window at the stars around 2-3 am while you are listening to music and just get put in another world where nothing can happen to you and you just get that feeling like you are okay and nothing has ever happened and you're just okay. Have you ever gotten that or is it just me?" Elle asked.
And in that moment I realized how much music meant to Elle. Music is probably the thing that had kept her sane all this time. Music is her get away.
"Yes I have. Sometimes like when I'm mad or upset or just up really late. I put in my headphones and it's like I'm invincible and I get that feeling of safety and freedom." I replied.
