Demi's POV
As every day, Gabi is gone by the time I'm awake. Although I know she's there, I miss her a lot and wish that she could be more involved with the baby on the way. I know that she probably resents Joe and I for feeling so happy about this baby when she thinks she was a burden to us as a baby.
The second she comes home I talk to her about it.
"Gabi," I say, "your dad and I think that you should ask to work a bit less so that you can be more involved at home. We miss you."
"They're just short-staffed," she defends. "I'll be home more again soon enough."
"I just want you to be involved with us since we know how much time a baby can take," I reply.
She nods. "I thought you and Dad would like some time to yourselves."
"Of course, but we want to spend time with you too. We really do love you, Gabi. I know I have since the day I found out that I was pregnant with you."
"Even though I was a burden?" she asks, then looks as if she immediately regrets it.
"You never were," I respond, giving her a hug. "Now how about you come help us clean out the spare bedroom?"
"No thanks," she excuses. "I'm tired."
I let her go to her room and Joe and I continue to clean out the spare bedroom for the new baby. In 2 months we get to find out the gender and I can't wait.

Joe's POV
Gabi still doesn't seem too happy about the baby, but Demi managed to convince her to come along to the appointment today since we're finding out the gender of the baby. Demi is super excited and I'm trying hard to echo that back to her, but I honestly don't care if it's a boy or a girl, it won't change how much I already love this baby.
We arrive at the doctor's office and are lead into a room right away.
"Do you want to find out the gender?" the doctor asks Demi and I.
Demi nods eagerly.
"Well, it looks like you're having a girl!" the doctor announces. He steps out of the room for a minute.
Demi looks super excited. She didn't get to raise Gabi for most of her life, so she's probably glad that she'll get another chance to raise a girl. Gabi on the other hand looks nervous.
"Can I go to the bathroom?" she asks, excusing herself from the room.
I nod and Gabi almost runs out of the room.
"I hope she's okay," Demi says.
I nod. "Me too, my love." And I lean over to hug her. "Me too."
