Demi's POV
I can't believe how quickly this pregnancy has gone. Gabi has decided to stay and help out more with the baby, at least until she decides what type of career she would like to pursue. The baby's due date is in less than a week and we are all excited, only Joe seems nervous. I'm trying to hide that I'm nervous too, but I also can't wait to finally meet my baby.
"Do you think she'll be born on her due date?" Joe asks as we're sitting in bed on night.
"Not sure. I wish she could just be born now," I admit.
Joe laughs a little.
"We really need to get serious on names for her," I say.
Joe nods. "Well, what are some names you like?"
"How about you go first?" I ask.
"Well, I was thinking that we could maybe name her after you in some way," he suggests, "like Demetria for her middle name or something."
"Sure, but not her first name."
"I also really like Celesta," he continues.
"That's such a beautiful name, Joe." I marvel.
He looks kind of sheepish. "It's musical so I thought it could work."
"Were you looking up names?" I ask.
"I thought that finding a musical name would be fitting, don't you think?" he questions.
I nod. "I can't wait to meet her."
"Do you have any name suggestions?" he asks.
"Well, yours are beautiful, but I have always loved the name Rose. Still, I think Celesta sounds better in context."
"So, Celesta Demetria?"
"Yes. It's beautiful."
I figure that Joe wants the baby to have both our last names like Gabriella does, but in some ways I want her to just be a Jonas. Maybe I'd even be willing to change my last name once we get married; I'm still wearing the engagement ring. I'm taking a break from my career for my family anyway.
The next morning, I wake up in pain. I start to freak out a little. I don't know if I'm ready for her to be born yet, although I would love to meet her.
I shake Joe's sleeping body. "Joe! Wake up; I think the baby might be coming!" I half-whisper.
He wakes up. "What do we do?" he panics.
"Can you call the doctor?"
We talk to the doctor for a few minutes and he confirms that I am in labor and that the baby will probably be born today. Then I realize that it's Valentine's day. I smile a little before the pain begins again, then Joe grabs my bag and we head for the hospital.
"We should call Gabi," I say.
"Do you think you can, Demi?" he asks.
I nod and grab my phone before selecting Gabi's number.
"Hello?" she answers, sounding tired.
"Hi Gabi," I reply.
"Where are you, Mom?" she asks.
"Your dad and I are on the way to the hospital."
"Is the baby coming?" she inquires, sounding a little excited but mostly nervous.
"We think so," I reply.
"I'll come to the hospital in a bit, okay?"
"Okay. I'll see you then!"
I hang up the phone right before the next contraction starts.
"Are you okay, Demi?" Joe asks. He seems even more nervous than I am.
"I'm fine," I respond.
We pull up to the hospital and get settled in a room. A while later a doctor comes in.
"Are you ready to have your baby?" the doctor asks.
Nervously I nod.
--2 hours later--
Joe's POV
Celesta Demetria Lovato-Jonas was born at 1:29 pm on February 14th, 2028. She is beautiful just like her mother. Demi has finally been placed in a regular room and will get to hold our daughter for the first time.
When she was first born, the doctors thought that something was wrong with her, so neither of us were allowed to hold her until the doctors checked her out. Now, they will be bringing her to us.
Gabi steps into the room. I guess she made it to the hospital a little while ago.
"They're bringing in your sister soon," I say to her.
She nods and sits down.
The doctor comes with the baby. I can't wait to hold her.
