What changed?

Chapter 6

The next morning, Sonic sped over to Amy's apartment. He decided to wear the same attire he wore yesterday only this time he was wearing a blue button-up short sleeve shirt that he was wearing unbuttoned instead of his usual blue vest.

To say that Sonic was nervous would be an understatement. But in truth he was feeling both nervous and excited. Excited about the possibility of getting to spend time with Amy and nervous about the possibility that it could all go wrong.

'Remember what Tails said, "Just be yourself".' Sonic thought to himself before knocking on the door.

"Coming, Coming." Said a voice from behind the door.

The door opened to reveal Amy wearing a red bathrobe, her gloves and bracelets, and a pair red bath slippers.

Needless to say, both Sonic and Amy were blushing like tomatoes at that point.

"Um, h-h-hey Amy." Sonic stuttered.

"H-H-Hey S-Sonic." Amy stuttered back.

"Um, did I come at a bad time?" Sonic asked.

"Kind of, but to be honest I don't mind that much since it's you." Said Amy.

"That's good to know." Sonic nervously chuckled.

"Well since you're here would you like to join me for breakfast? I was just about to make pancakes." Amy offered with a smile.

"Sure thing." Sonic said with a smile and a thumbs-up.

Amy then let Sonic in, so he could sit at the table. After that Amy went into the kitchen to get started on the pancakes.

"Question Sonic, would you like strawberries or blueberries on your pancakes?" Amy asked.

"Blueberries." Sonic answered.

"Gotcha." Amy replied.

Before long Amy had finished and brought the food to the table. Strawberry pancakes for her and blueberry pancakes for Sonic along with two strips of bacon and a glass of milk for each of them. Sonic's mouth was watering at what he saw.

"Can we eat now!?" Sonic said eagerly.

Amy giggled "Dig right in!"

And with that, Sonic took his first bite of the pancakes and immediately smiled from cheek to cheek.

'They taste as great as they look. But then again, Amy always was a great cook, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised.' He thought fondly to himself.

Amy smiled at the sight of Sonic enjoying her cooking before digging in herself. Eventually some time into the meal, Amy decided to ask the question that had been on her mind since Sonic first showed up on her doorstep.

"So Sonic, what brings you here?" She asked while starting on her second strip of bacon.

"Well before I answer that, I have a question of my own to ask you." Sonic replied.

"Okay, well what is it?" Amy asked.

"Well, you know how you've had many boyfriends over the years?" Sonic said while taking another bite of the pancakes.

"Yes?"

"Well I was wondering, are you seeing anyone right now?"
