Pink is the color that your cheeks turn when she smiles your way
But is the sadness you feel when you can't show how much you love her
For her fear of being labeled, but it's something you're willing to pay
Red is the hate that people scream from across the street
Their anger and bigotry cement them deeper in their ignorance
But is also the feeling of her lips that are so sweet
Orange is the feeling of healing as you walk hand in hand with her down the street
Barely caring who sees
You start to finally feel complete
Yellow is still feeling scared
But the fear is washed away with the heat of the sun hitting both your faces
Even though the curious or disgusted stares and glances
Green is the feeling when you see her smile so bright for somebody other than you
her laugh flutters and carries with somebody new
That makes you feel ...blue
Blue is the color of your heart
As it shatters
This is not as nice as it was at the start
Purple is the therapy you force yourself to go through
After she wove webs through your soul
You have to rip out the weeds in your heart she grew
The colors blend together
As you finally find yourself, with or without her.
