"W-what?" Brad stumbled over his words, looking at me in dismay.

"You know what I said." I whispered with a small smile on my face. Brad's eyes lit up and the sadness cleared away from his iris'. The gleam in his eyes was brighter than the sun. His frown immediately disappeared from his face, a smile taking over as he showed his beautiful teeth.

Brad didn't say anything. Instead he just pulled me into a hug and mumbled things that didn't make sense into my ear. I giggled against his skin, feeling the vibrations of his voice tickling me.

"You don't have to out of pity, you know." Brad said once he finished having a mini spasm into the crook of my neck.

"I'm not doing this out of pity. I think it'll be pretty cool." I smiled widely at him. Brad's cheeks went a rosy, pinky colour as I admired him close up.

"Good. I just want the best for you, and our family." Brad looked across the room to see Pip at the door, staring at us as he swayed her tail side to side.

"So.. do I have to go there or..?" I questioned Brad about this whole new job.

"They said they'll be in touch soon, they already like you - a lot - but they need to find a suitable time for a meeting." I nodded at his response, understanding what he's saying.

"Sounds good." I replied, watching Pip trot her way over to us. Her big eyes never left us. She stood on her hind legs and placed her front paws on the arm of the chair. We both giggled at her happy face and her big, bright eyes.

I petted her head and stroked her ear, making her head tilt to the same side.

"What would you like to do tonight, m'love?" Brad asked with a slight tone of mischief in his voice. I tore my eyes from the adorable, over-sized puppy to Brad who wore a smug look on his face as he waited patiently for my answer.

"Do we have any drinks?" I ask, continuing to stroke Pip.

"Alcohol?" Brad questioned.

"Yes, alcohol." I laughed at him.

"I believe we do." He replied smugly, once again.

"Right, well.. we'll get ourselves some drinks and watch whatever crap comes on the tv." I looked into his eyes and waited for his reply.

"Sounds good to me."

••

About an hour after we found the drinks, Brad and I found ourselves on the couch, laughing and giggling at absolutely nothing as we clutched the glasses of our beverages.

The tv was turned off, and the only noise to be heard was our chatting and laughter followed by it.

We aren't drunk, nor are we tipsy, we're simply just enjoying our time together - alone.
