Recap - Third Person

At around 4am, Maddie's water had broke.

Her and Brad are expecting their second child.

Brad called his parents to look after Pip and Lily seeing as they needed help - urgently.

Anne and Derek helped Maddie into the car while Brad frantically threw the bag filled with baby clothes into the back seat. He also quickly checked the car seat, which was fully set up.

His parents wished them both good luck and waved the couple off as they drove to the hospital - quickly.

"Brad! Please hurry.. I-" I couldn't finish my sentence as a contraction came. They're getting more painful and each come quicker than the last - meaning that we're running out of time to get there before the baby arrives.

"I'm trying, baby. I promise. We'll be there soon." Brad said reassuringly, holding out his left hand for me to take as his right hand steered the car.
I took deep breaths and nodded at Brad's words. I tried my best to keep calm, but the pain only got worse.

"How much longer- ugh!!" I cant take the pain anymore. The feeling is unbearable.

"We're almost there! See, there's the entrance!" Brad panicked as he tried to calm me me down. I feel bad for shouting at him, but my god does this hurt.

I squirmed in my seat while Brad drove through the entrance right to the main doors of the building where the lay-by is.
He quickly got out of the car and rushed to my side, helping me out while shouting for someone to help him.

A nurse had rushed out to see what all the commotion was. When she realised, she grabbed a wheelchair and told me to sit down. The nurse asked Brad how far along I am, since I'm in too much pain to answer myself.
Brad continues to tell the nurse that I'm slightly early but this happened last time, too.

"Get her to the maternity ward now!" The nurse instructed another nurse who was stood at the doors of the log corridor.
The nurse immediately nodded and took us to the maternity ward.

Hours passed by - still nothing.

I kept getting contractions but I wasn't fully dilated.

The midwives said that if I'm not fully dilated soon they may have to operate - which scared me because I've already had a c-section - is it okay to have more than one c-section?

"Hey, how are you feeling?" I heard Brad ask softly as he stroked my cheek.
I shook my head and groaned.

"I just want this baby out of me." I huffed.
