Jett
I woke up to the shrill sound of Kami's alarm clock, which never happened. Kami always woke up before me. I looked down to see her passed out in my arms, her head on my chest, hair splayed across my arm which was draped protectively across her back. Her mouth was open and the cutest little snores were coming out. I really didn't want to wake her up, but I knew she would hit me if she was late for class.
"Kami," I whispered, moving my hand up run my thumb across her cheekbone, "baby, it's time to get up."
When that didn't work, I sat up a little, making sure not to jostle her too much, and ran a finger lightly over her ribcage. She murmured something incoherent and her mouth opened and closed a few times, but she just snuggled deeper into my chest. I did it another few times until she squirmed and jolted awake.
She blinked twice and looked at me, her face innocent and vulnerable from sleep, like an adorable silver eyed puppy.
"Were you tickling me?" her husky voice was slightly slurred and she fisted her eyes before looking at me again.
"Mm hmm," I said, just enjoying watching her.
"Oh," she looked away as she considered this, her sleepy mind not comprehending, "why?"
"Because it's time to get ready for class and you didn't wake up to the alarm."
"Oh."
As her thoughts caught up to her and she realized why she wouldn't have woken up from the alarm, a touch of pink tinged her cheeks and she smiled a little.
"Oh," she repeated, more meaningfully.
"Oh," I agreed, leaning forward to kiss her softly. Then I pulled back and frowned, taking her chin in my hands. "How do you feel? Any pain?"
She raised her eyes, doing a small self-inventory, then shook her head with a small smile.
"Nope. I mean, a little sore, but it's a good sore. You know, like after a hard work out sore."
I eyed her with mock suspicion.
"You don't work out."
She giggled and smacked my chest.
"No, but I've heard," she said, raising her eyebrows before leaning in to kiss me again. I smiled against her lips and rolled us over so that I was on top of her, my hands braced on either side of her head, and I deepened the kiss.
She opened her mouth and played with me for a few minutes, but then she sighed and pulled back.
"We should really get ready for class," she whispered, running her fingers through my hair.
I closed my eyes, loving the way her hands felt against my head, and made that low rumble in the back of my throat. As expected, she laughed and told me I was purring.
I growled and nipped at her throat playfully.
"I do not purr," I murmured.
Again, she sighed.
"You do, but, alas, we don't have time to debate about it, so here's what we're going to do. You're going to agree with me, because you love me," she said, giving me a huge smile.
I crinkled up my eyebrows, deliberating this, before conceding with a nod.
"Fine, but only because of how much I love it when you acknowledge how much I love you."
She bit her lip against a huge smile and let out a contented sigh.
"You're about to tell me that we have to get ready, huh?" I asked, twisting my lips into a wry look.
