"We're here!" Ashton said over the loud engine. I smiled at his enthusiasm, his back tensing in excitement. The motorcycle slowed until it was at a complete stop, Ashton whipped off his helmet. "Finally!" He exclaimed. I laughed while taking off my helmet, he placed his hands on my waist and gently lifted me off of the bike.
"Where exactly are we?" I asked looking around. I could hear the crashing of waves, so we must be somewhere near the beach.
"You'll see." He smiled, taking my hand. He led me to a narrow stone path that seemed to go on forever. I looked up into the starry sky, the small twinkling dots crowded the black sky. Finally we reached a small cottage. Tiki torches surrounded the little structure, illuminating the white sand below. I let out an uncontrollable gasp, "Do you like it?" He asked giggling a little.
"Y-yeah!" The outside is compacted with small and large stones, making the cottage look rustic. Large rectangular windows lined the house giving the inside look bigger. He laughed and dragged me inside. "Ash, this is beautiful! What is this place?"
"It's my place, actually." He chuckled, letting his brown hair cover his eyes. My eyes widened at his words.
"Like... your house?" I asked him.
"Oh! No, but I own this." He smiled while showing me to the small living room. I sat on the yellow couch beside him, his eyes studying mine. "You're probably wondering why I own a cottage..." He began, "Well, when I was little, I spent half the summer at my grandmother's cottage. Which is where we are now. When she died... it was hard on me." He paused, pursing his lips. I looked into his eyes, they were filled with sadness and longing. "I inherited this place when I was fifteen and I've never brought anyone here before." He entwined our fingers together. I smiled at him, trying to soothe his sadness.
"Nobody?" I raised my eyebrows surprised.
"Not even my parents..." He sighed, laying his head on my shoulder. I ran my fingers through his soft wavy hair. "Natalie, I like you." I smiled from ear to ear.
"I like you too, Ashton." I kissed his forehead. He smiled, showing all of his teeth. "Why'd you take me here?" I asked him. He looked up at me with a smirk on his face.
"I wanted to be with you alone, it seems as if we are always interrupted when I'm about to tell you something." He brushed his hand through my hair gently. "I'm falling so hard for you and I don't know how to deal with it." He sighed, rising to his feet. I stared up at him as he took off his shirt, revealing his bare chest.
"What're you doing?" I asked him laughing.
"Let's go take a dip!" He ripped off his jeans and shoes while throwing me over his shoulder. I screamed in shock, but my smile never came off my face. He ran out of the cottage towards the beach. His feet hitting the dry white sand over and over as he closes in on the beach.
"Ashton, I don't have a swimsuit!" I yell, punching his butt. He throws his head back in laughter, throwing me into the salty water. I plugged my noses right before I hit the water, my whole body becoming drenched with sea water.
"I know that" He smiles as I surface. I tackle him into the water, our bodies radiating warmth to each other.
"You bastard! I'm soaking wet now!" I flicked my hair out of my face. He chuckles while standing up and picking me up by my waist. He leads me towards the wet sand where we collapse in laughter. "Am I really a bastard?" He turned to me.
I stuck a finger to my lips, thinking dramatically. "Nah, you're pretty sweet." I slapped his arm playfully. He grabbed my waist and placed me on top of him. I laid on his bare chest, grabbing his wrinkled fingers. I shivered a little as a breeze swept through the shore, "Are you cold?" he asked me.
