The forest, I must say, is the best place in the world. I took my surroundings in, gulping the sight in. Nymeria looked through our eyes, she also loves the outdoors. I thought about shifting, but decided against it. Who knows what's lurking behind the shadows. The tree that I claimed as mine, as well as the forest, was merely standing infront of me. Unknowingly, my feethad guided my to here. Everything seemed to be in order, no leaf was out of place. But something was missing. The tree looked as if it were dying slowly, which was not a good thing. I placed a hand on its bark and it somehow responded. The tree, whose name I fannot catch, scooped me up. It was impossible to, for a animal, shifter or human, to catch the nme of the trees. So I called her Summer, the tree liked the name, like she loved the season. I closed my eyes as I asended. Both the tree and I loved summer, but preferred to have it dark rather than light. No matter. The sounds the forest made were like a symphony. It was an un-man made item that could not be copied. I hummed along, a rando. piece that Summer had taught me. Yes, I can talk to her, I am as bound to her as I am to Nymeria. That's another thing nobody else knows about me. I don't bother to tell anyway. People would call me even more of a freak. Not that I give a flying rat's arse what they think.
When Summer got me to my normal branch, she sang her silent song. Well, it's not silent if you use your ears. The beauty also is impecable from up here. I suddenly thought of a quote from a Paramore song, Miracle.
It's not faith if,
If you use your eyes, oh why
We'll get it right, this time (this time)
Let's leave it all behind, oh why
We'll get it right this time
It's not faith if your using your eyes, oh why
Summer intently listened to me hum the song. Patiently waiting for herturn to sing. Once I finished, her silent song filled the air, leaving a comfortable silence. Summer's song was by far the best amoung the trees. She had a nack for creativity. Breaking the comfortable silence was a loud laugh. It was Averi's. I thought I told her not to do that. My eyes fluttered open slightly, blinded by the sun. Then my eyes adjusted, thankfully fast.
'What was that?' Summer asked through a link she created. I didn't have to open my mouth to look like a bloody fool.
'Averi, I told her not to do that, though. When she has fun she breaks promises, I'd better be going. I'll see you later on tonight hopefully.' I replied. I jumped off of the branch, the landing not hurting a bit. Summer became her unusual tree-self. I was used to her bubbly mind and personality. Then a twig snapped far away in the forest. It was loud and clear for me to hear. So I spirnted off to the entry of the forest. Where my friends were.
~Averi's Pov~
I know I promised her bot ro disturb her while she was in the forest. I wanted to keep that promise as well. But Louis, Harry and the rest were so funny, though. I heard footsteps, and light breathing came towards us. Rayne came rushing to us, thankfully, at human spirting speed.
"Heey, what were you doing in the forest?" Lou asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Nothing" Rayne accidently whispering. Clearing her throat, she replied, "Nothing."
"Okay, we thought you were making food so we went downstairs to find you not there." Liam said.
"Yeah, I just had to get out of the house for a while." she said, before giving me a hard glare while the others weren't looking. I bowed my head slightly, showing her my respect. She just nodded, saying that I could raise my head. Rayne is the alpha of our pack, our very small pack. Suddenly a wolf howled, the boys, Dani and El started to freak out.
"Take them inside, Averi. I'll handle this." Rayne commanded. All I did was nod and push them away.
"What are you going to do? It was just a wolf howl." Liam asked as I pushed them away. Harry and Louis shared a look, then said,
"Don't worry, Rayne will take care of it. Let's get back to the house."
We went to the house. We were safe.
