Priya's P.O.V.
It's been three years since I've split up with Rahul. I still miss him and my thoughts always ended up surrounding him.
I've moved on in life. I'm finally an independent woman that I've longed to be since my childhood. I have a job as an accountant in a local business.
I'm happy. Happier than I thought I would be three years ago. I thought I would be depressed about Rahul. But life goes on and I moved onto new things in life.
I'm still in touch with Rahul's family and Siddu even though I haven't talked to Rahul for the past two years. I even went and visited Boomi Bhabhi when she had her son. Rohan Bhai and Bhabhi had named him Ravi.
The last time Rahul and I saw each other again was when we both signed the divorce papers in our lawyer's office. We both were pretty cut up about the divorce. But, I knew I had to go through with it because someone was blackmailing me with revealing secrets about Papa which could destroy him and the company he worked hard for.
"Priya, do you want to go to a club tonight?" Riya questions as she brings me out of my daze. She became on of my closest friends in the past couple of years.
She helped me a lot during these past three years. She even got me this job at this office and gave me a place to stay until I was able to afford a place to live in. I would always be in debt to her for all the support she gave me.
I look at the time and notice that it's time to leave. I turn off my computer. "Sorry, Varun said he wants to have dinner together. Raincheck?"
"Of course. How is your fiancé doing?" Riya comments. She shoots me a teasing glance.
"You should know. You see him more than I do," I throw back at her.
Riya was Varun's PA at the same office. She was a year younger than me and is happily in a relationship with her boyfriend for two years.
"Yeah, but I'm not the one who is on his mind 24/7..." Riya trails off as she knocks my shoulder with hers before she starts giggling.
"I have to start going," I say as I blush. I grab my bag and start heading out.
Varun Kaur was my boss. He was also a big help to me these past three years. He gave me advances of my salary whenever I needed them.
We became pretty close as friends. We both had very painful pasts and we've bonded over that.
Varun was married before. But his wife, Esha, passed away in a car accident. She was 4 months pregnant. Varun lost his wife and his child in the matter of seconds.
Don't get me wrong. Varun is a very nice guy and I am a very lucky girl to be marrying him. But, I don't love Varun. And I know he doesn't love me either. He's still in love with his late-wife. This was a marriage of convenience.
