Priya's P.O.V.

"You sure, both of you guys can't stay?" Ma questions with a hopeful face. She really wanted Rahul and me to stay back, but we couldn't.

"I can't, Ma. I have work tomorrow. And now that I live farther away from Varun's office, I have to wake up even earlier," I answer.

"I can't either," Rahul also answers. He's been in an even more bad mood if that was even possible since Aisha left. She couldn't stay past ten because she had to go on a business trip early in the morning.

"Okay." Ma frowns.

"Rahul, come here," Papa instructs. It was the first time that he talked to Rahul throughout the whole night. They don't have the best relationship ever since the divorce.

"J-Ji, Dad." Rahul has a shocked face on just like the rest of us. He wasn't expecting his father to talk to him tonight.

"You're good to drive, right?" Papa questions and Rahul just nods. He only has two beers the entire night. "Good, I just needed to make sure you're good to drive Priya."

Annoyance flashes in Rahul's face. "She can take the cab."

Papa looks at Rahul incredulously. "Are you serious, Rahul? You're going to the same house. Take her with you," Papa says sternly which meant there was no room for arguments.

"But, Dad..."

"No, arguments. Just take her home with you, Rahul. I hope you have a little bit of respect left to follow what I am saying this time." Papaji leaves to go inside.

Rahul groans and glares at me. Whenever he lays his eyes on me, he glares. Rahul gestures for me to join him in the car.

I sit in the passenger seat of the car and we begin to pull out of the driveway.

"You could've said something," Rahul says, grinding his teeth.

"He was right though, we are going to the same place," I explain why I didn't say anything back there.

"Oh please." Rahul huffs in annoyance and he pulls over on the side of the road. "Why are you torturing me like this?"

"I'm torturing you?" I scoff at him. "I'm trying to make the best out of this situation, Rahul. I don't necessarily find it amazing to be living with my ex-husband. Do you think I enjoy this?" I yell.

"I hate you," Rahul says with so much venom in his voice. "I wish I never met you."

I am quite taken aback from how much he seems to hate me. Tears are emerging in my eyes but I manage to hold them back. "I'm sorry you feel that way."

I unlock the car door manually and get out of the car.

Rahul lowers the window and throws me an annoyed look. "What are you doing, Priya? Get back in the car."
