Rahul's P.O.V.
Three years. It's been almost three years since I've seen Priya. I wanted us to work it out but she wouldn't listen to me. She said that it was too late for us. That our relationship was destroyed because of me.
I tried to reason with her. To give us another chance, but she didn't. She was adamant on separating.
If she doesn't want to be with me then who am I to force her to stay with me. If she doesn't want me, then I should let her go. If she really loved me, then she would've stayed. She would've worked it out with me because she loved me.
But she didn't. She gave up so easily on our relationship like she didn't even care about me. Like she never even loved me.
My hand tightens around my coffee cup. Anger soars through me whenever I think about her.
I heard knocking on the door and I calm myself down. "Come in."
The door opens and my secretary, Laila comes into the room. "Your father wanted me to tell you that there will be a family dinner in two days for your nephew's birthday."
"Tell him I'll be there," I dismiss her.
My parents were very upset with me and the divorce. They talk to Priya but they don't even properly talk to me. They only believe her and hear what she has to say. It's like she casted a spell on them.
My nephew, Ravi, is everything to me. He's was the only one who brought happiness in my life when Priya left me.
Ravi was like my own child. I always spoil him to the core. Bhai and Bhabhi always complain to me that Ravi will turn into a spoiled brat because of me. But I don't care. Ravi deserves the best no matter what.
"Hey, baby!" Aisha barges into my office and sits on the table.
Aisha has helped me a lot when Priya left me. When I was crying in bed for a week straight, she was the one who dragged me out of bed and got me on my feet again.
It reminded me why used to love her so much. She is determined to get things done. No matter how ruthless she can be, she used to care for me. She still cares for me, unlike Priya.
I get up and place my lips on hers. Aisha smiles into the kiss and opens her mouth to slip her tongue into my mouth. She moans and I grip her waist, pulling her closer to me. I break the kiss before it gets out of hand. I place my forehead on hers as we both try to regain our breath.
"So I talked to Mom and Dad and they said that a really good date for the wedding is in a month," Aisha says and I frown.
"You know I said that I wanted our wedding would be in the summer. It'll give me time to convince my parents to actually take part in the wedding," I explain.
"I know. But I can't wait till I get married to you. I really love you, Rahul. Even when you left me to go to Priya. I loved you through that." Aisha has tears in her eyes and one drops to her cheek.
