Priya's P.O.V.
"I don't know how this happened, Priya." Tina seems apologetic. It was a week after Rahul paid a visit. I reached out her immediately after I kicked Rahul out. I wanted to make sure that he was right. "I was sure that David and I submitted everything correctly."
I sigh in stress. I didn't need this right now. I didn't need to deal with Rahul's pissy attitude during this. I didn't want to relive everything.
"What is the process now?" Varun questions. He was sitting right next to me. I told him everything because he heard me kick Rahul out. I didn't want to lie to him either.
Tina looks at me sympathetically. "I-I don't know how to tell you this but David and I reached out to the same judge that rejected your divorce in the first place. We have to start the divorce process from the start, which we were expecting. But, um, ..." Tina trails off.
I narrow my eyes at her. And I was confused with why she was so hesitant with telling me something. "But what?"
"The judge wants you and Rahul to live together for six months before you apply for the divorce." And my heart drops.
My mouth dries up. I was scared. I keep getting those threatening texts from that unknown number once in a while when I get too close to Rahul. I'm scared about what the consequences would be if I have to live together with Rahul.
"Is that even possible for the judge to do?" Varun questions.
Tina nods. "Yeah, actually. It's the judges way of giving the marriage a last chance before the couple actually parts ways. They even have people pop by unannounced and check in on the couple once a month."
"Is there no way out of this?" I plead.
"No, there isn't. The judge is adamant about his decision. We even tried to bribe him to speed up the process but he's one of the most honest judges I've ever encountered."

"Thank you for doing this, Varun." I look up at him as he helps me take the suitcase out of his trunk.
"Don't worry about it. I'm sorry you have to go through this."
I nod in agreement. Though, I have a feeling Varun is a bit relieved when he found out at me and Rahul still being married. The whole divorce process would take another year or two. Which meant that my wedding with Varun is pushed back two years.
"Are you leaving today for Hyderabad?" I ask.
Varun nods. "Yeah, but, listen, if you ever need any help, let me know. I really didn't like the way your ex spoke to you the other day."
"He was just in a bad mood." I couldn't help but defend Rahul.
"Still...I'll only be a flight away. Just call me," Varun gives me a pointed look before he get into his car and drives off to the airport.
