Third Person POV
“Fifty!”
“A hundred!”
“You’re nuts! No one can beat the reigning champion!”
“You must be crazy! How long do you think he’s been on the throne? A day? An hour!? Nobody stays for long!”
“Haha! You’re new around here, aren’t you! You know nothin’ man. Have fun losing your money!” The man collect the hundred grand the man had betted on the challenger.
Jungkook watched from the sidelines, listening to the bets, studying the opponents, seeing where this would go. “The odds aren’t in your favor, Jungkook.” The man beside him said.
“Oh I know.” He smiled up at his Hyung. “Namjoon, do you trust me?” He suddenly said, even though he didn’t shout it, and the room was filled with loud chatter and cheering, Namjoon heard what he said loud and clear.
“Of course I do. I never would have sticked by your side the whole year if I didn’t. We make a great team. But right now...are you sure? I’ve heard that the reigning king killed his last three opponents. You really wanna bank on this guy?”
“I know how he looks, Hyung, but trust me. You didn’t see what I saw. This is just to show you, I know that he can beat the reigning king, there’s no doubt.”
“Alright...but if you lose a bunch of money to this, don’t expect me to stick around.”
“So loving.”
“I’m not getting involved with a bunch of angry men coming after you for their money that you don’t have.”
“And what if my man wins? There’ll be a hell of a lot more angry men coming after me seeing as most of the bets are not in my favor as you so helpfully pointed out earlier.” Namjoon nodded and they both turned back to face the ring as the match began.
The ‘king’ a mountain of a man who towered at at least six foot four (193 centimeters) sneered down at the much shorter male. He was all lean muscle, a twig, really, while the ‘king’ had to be described as a tree trunk to be compared effectively.
The whistle blew and the match officially began. The ‘King’ charged, the first to attack. Jungkook smiled as his man fluidly dodged and sent a kick at the burly man’s back with enough force to send him down.
There was really nothing much of the match to watch for Jungkook. He’d already seen this man in action. He’d seen him take down ten fully armed men, trained assassins, in less than two minutes.
So one big street fighter was nothing.
The room was dead silent as the king dropped, unconscious or dead, it didn’t matter. What mattered was that Jungkook had just found the most gifted fighter in the city. Someone who knew the streets, had connections.
It also helped that he’d just made Jungkook half a billion dollars from bets placed against the man.
Said man smiled and jumped out of the ring, walking over to Jungkook. “So? Was that to your expectations?”
“It wasn’t for me.” Jungkook said, smiling. “I was already going to add you to my team, regardless, I just needed this over analytical genius to see and believe me when I said there was no fighter to compare.”
Both turned to Namjoon, who was almost gaping, looking dazed at what he had just witness. He suddenly pushed himself out of his trance-like state and cleared his throat.
