One year later~
“It’s been one year, love.” Jungkook whispered sadly. “You look so peaceful now, like sleeping beauty. Just waiting for you true loves kiss.” Jungkook laughed sadly. “Except your prince doesn’t deserve to kiss you.” He whispered. “I’m so sorry.” He voice cracked and he felt tears sting his eyes.
But none came out.
He’d cried for so long and so much that there was nothing left to give. His tears had dried up and left him hollow and empty.
A hand made its way to his shoulder and the man didn’t even flinch from the contact. “Come on Jungkookie. Time’s up.” Soyeon whispered.
About eight months ago she had gone over to the man's house and spoken to the other guys privately. She had told them that it didn’t seem healthy to let Jungkook reside with Taehyung all day everyday, so they’d made a time constraint on the man to try and get him to do something else besides sit by Taehyung's all day and just stare at his body.
Jungkook slowly stood, Soyeon holding his upper arm and guiding him out of the room. She barely managed to catch him as he crumpled though, landing on his knees roughly.
Soyeon made sure he didn’t fall face first onto the ground, clutching his arm and trying to get him to stand again. “Come on, Jungkook, this isn’t healthy.”
“It’s been a year. A year, Soyeon.”
“I know. I know Jungkook. Come on.” Soyeon managed to drag him, this time less gently and with less gentle prodding, just trying to get him to leave the fucking hospital already.
She was sick and tired of him just sitting next to Taehyung. Talking about Taehyung. Being sad over Taehyung.
She hoped the man never woke up, if she was being honest. Because ever since he’d fallen unconscious, Soyeon had been using the lie that Jungkook was engaged to her once again, Jungkook too blind to see that she was using him.
Soyeon managed to get the man into her car and drove out of the city. “Where are we going?” Jungkook asked dully. Soyeon sighed.
“I made a reservation for somewhere outside of the city. I thought it would do you some good to get a change of scenery, Kookie. You’ve been holed up in that hospital room all day, I even gave you ten extra minutes. I thought maybe this would cheer you up a bit more.”
Jungkook didn’t reply to that, he simply turned and stared out the window, face blank.
They pulled up to the restaurant and Soyeon got out, helping Jungkook out of the car as well, since the man had seemed to regress into himself once again. He’d been doing that a lot lately, just drawing into himself and not really be aware of any of his surroundings or what was happening. He was a shell of himself. Wasting away from guilt and a broken heart.
Soyeon ordered dinner for the two of them, and when the food arrived, she practically had to force feed Jungkook to ensure that he actually ate something.
She relaxed a little when he started to become more animated, gradually through the dinner, until finally he seemed to be a little bit back to his old self. “Thank you, Soyeon.” He whispered lowly when they were north finally done eating.
The woman smiled and nodded, laying the bill and leading Jungkook out and to a small park. “You seem a little lost nowadays, Jungkook. I just want you to get better. I know you might not want to hear this, but...it’s been a year, Jungkook. A whole entire year, you need to start moving on.”
Jungkook blanked at the woman’s words, shaking his head slowly and furrowing his eyebrows.
“No...why would I move on? Taehyung is still—“
“Taehyung is still unconscious. The doctors and staff will alert you if there are signs of him waking up. But you know they said that the likelihood of that it very low. You need to start thinking about the future, Jungkook, moving on. You still have a business to run, an image to upkeep. You...you need to get over Taehyung and move on.” She finally finished.
“B-But how? And why?” Jungkook asked, shaking his head once more. He didn’t want to move on.
“You have people who will be there to support you, people who want to help you. I want to help you.” Jungkook gave her a confused look.
“You want to help me..?”
“Move on. Yes. It hurts my heart to see you like this. Taehyung made his choice, now you have to make yours.”
“What are you saying Soyeon?” Jungkook asked, laughing a little, thinking she was joking. She sounded like she didn’t even want Taehyung to wake up.
“Are you blind!?” Soyeon finally shouted in frustration. “I’ve been there for the whole year, I was there when Taehyung left you, I was there to pick up your pieces every single fucking time, and where was he? I was there to comfort you, to nurse you back to health, to support you! And you love him!? I love you, Jungkook, and unlike that unconscious suicidal bitch who would rather kill himself than be with you...I would never leave you!”
Jungkook was struck speechless.
Shocked.
Which was why he didn’t even move when Soyeon lurched forward, clashing her lips to his.
