Third Person POV

Taehyung sat there, a small blush adorning his cheeks as he looked awkwardly down at his hands.

He didn't know how to act.

Jungkook sat across from the man, looking just as nervous.

"You good?" He asked.

"I-I'm fine. This is just...you realize we never went on a date back then...right?"

"Right, I remember." Jungkook rolled his eyes, grinning slightly. "You always told me that dates were for the ones who were unsure. That couples who just spent time together all of the time were the ones that were going to last."

"And you took me out on a date."

"Do you wanna go back to my house and play Overwatch or something then?"

"What about Fortnite?"

"...I'm going to assume that Jimin taught you about that motherfucking game."

"Language."

"And Jin taught you about that."

"You seem to know your hyungs well."

"Of course I do. They're my family."

Taehyung tilted his head. "Whatever happened to yours?" Taehyung asked quietly. "Jimin told me that you left the day after I did and never came back."

Jungkook looked down, sighing. "They're still alive and well, the last time I checked. I just...up and left I guess. I wrote a note and that was about it."

"And what did you do after leaving? I don't want to sound rude, but you weren't exactly...what you are now."

"I won't lie to you. I stayed on the streets for about six months. I learned a thing or two and...well some things about me changed. Guess I hit puberty then, too. I met Namjoon after that and we decided to partner up."

"To form a mafia?"

"That wasn't our original goal. We just wanted to meet our goals."

"His?"

"Revenge. Some big time business man had murdered his pregnant girlfriend because she refused to sleep with him like a common whore and got away with it because he had the money to do so."

Taehyung frowned. "I see."

"I don't want to talk about any of this tonight, Taehyung." Jungkook said quietly. "I just want a normal date."

"We have to talk about this, Jungkook. The sooner we do, the faster we can move on."

"You sound like a therapist."

"Definitely am not one. I was going to ask...if you'd allow me to see one, though."

"Why wouldn't I allow you to see one? I don't own you, Tae, you aren't my property."

Taehyung paused, paling slightly, realizing what he'd just done. "S-sorry...it's a habit." He whispered quietly.

"Taehyung...I'm not going to tell you to just stop, because I know that would be unfair and impossible, but I want you to know that you're your own person and that you can do whatever the fuck you want now."

Taehyung nodded. Jungkook sighed. "Are you sure you want to talk about this right now?"

"We can cuddle at home afterwards?" Taehyung asked quietly. Jungkook nodded, sitting back slightly.

"Why don't we go slow though. Discussing everything today might be overwhelming for the both of us."

"R-right."

"Do you want to go first, or do you?"

"I-i will..." Taehyung inhaled slowly.

Five years ago~

"I have to go and pick up b--Jungkook."

"Okay! Is he coming over tonight?"

"Probably." Taehyung shrugged and smiled, kissing his eomma on the cheek. "Love you."

The woman rolled her eyes. "I love you, too, you playboy."

"Hey! I have a boyfriend, I'll have you know."

"And you better keep him. That boy is the most precious thing."

"Yes, yes, you love him better than your own son, we all know." Taehyung laughed as his mother smacked his arm and sent him out to go and pick you up his bun, who'd gotten surprisingly detention.

He walked to the front door ad opened it, but paused when he saw three burly men standing there in black suits. "Uh...can I help you?" He asked, a little confused.

He couldn't see the men's eyes, as they were obscured by thick, black glasses, but he could tell that they were frowning.

"Are you Kim Taehyung?"

"Uh...who's asking?"

"That's unimportant. Are you Kim Taehyung?"

"No?"

"Lying will get you nowhere, boy. You're coming with us."

"Uh...how about no?" Taehyung stumbled back, crashing to the ground as the man who was speaking to him socked him across the jaw.

"Taebear!?" Taehyung groaned as his mother came running into the room. "Who are you!? And what do you want!?"

"Your son. He's payment for your debts--"

"What debts!?"

"She's being difficult." One of them muttered.

"Shoot her, then. We don't need her."

"Wait, what--" three seconds.

Taehyung didn't even have time to process anything.

He was grabbed as a gunshot went off and his mother screamed before going utterly silent. He was in shock.

They'd just shot her for nothing.

Killed her for seeing if her son was okay.

"Don't you fucking dare struggle." The man holding him muttered.

But Taehyung wouldn't be able to, even if he wanted to. He was so locked up in shock.

"Son!?"

"Shoot him."

Bang.

Another life.

His father.

Gone in less than a second.

For nothing.

And Taehyung couldn't do anything but stare in shock.

Nothing.

He felt nothing.

It was all for nothing.
