Today's grammar
N에서
N에 V
과거 표현
V 하고 싶다
This lesson today correlates to Time and Places. To do something when and where, past tense with verbs and a lesson on how to say I want to do something. There'll be a lot of words to memorize in this chapter which as always will be at the end.
N에서
In, On, At, To.
에서 is added on to a place in a sentence to show where something is done.
Example,
저는 학교에서 한국어 공부해요.
I study Korean at school.
I think this is very simple so I'll give some more example sentences then some practice one's for you.
수지 씨는 도서관에서 책을 읽었습니다. Suzie reads a book at the library. (Now notice the ending is different this is past tense which you'll learn later in this chapter feel free to just use regular 아요/어요.
마이클 씨는 식당에서 먹어요.
Practice time
Example: 저/학교/선생님/만나다 저는 학교에서 선생님을 만나요.
1. 미나 씨/ 백화점/ 옷을 사다
2. 수미 씨/ 집/ 자다
3. 진 씨/ 영화관/ 영화를 보다
N에 V
Now this is time + doing something. Time is a noun so N + 에 + V. Time is 시간. There'll be a list of times which will seem like a lot but I'll be sure to have lots of practice examples.
There's actually 2 examples here to learn
N(시간) + 에
And N(목적지) + 에 가다/오다.
First is N(시간)에 V
Example:
저는 아침에 사과를 먹습니다.
I ate an apple this morning.
아침 means morning. Then add 에 to show it's the time you're referring to in the sentence.
This is going to be a bit of a dump for all the new time words so writing them down will help you remember:
저년 last year
올해 this year
내년 next year
매년 every year
지난달 last month
이번 달 this month
다음달 next month
매월 every month
지난 주 last week
이번 주 this week
다음 주 next week
