Hanna sat next to me at the dinner table. The boys stared at me for the longest time before Tina came to the table and started the conversation. We talked about how school was starting in a couple days and that I would attend Riverwood High School with Kyle. After dinner, Hanna took me outside to the backyard.

As I was pushing Hanna on the swing, Kyle came outside too. He stared at us awhile and then finally came over to talk to us.

"Kyle, go away! Girls only!" screamed Hanna in an attempt to make Kyle leave but he didn't.

"I didn"t come out here to talk to you Hanna!" Kyle said, looking at me.

"Oh, what did you want to talk about?" I asked, curious of why he would actually want to talk to me. In the couple hours that I've been hear, I've decided that Kyle acts like a big shot who is too good for everyone else.

"Listen, I don't care who you are or why you're even here. I have a reputation to maintain at school so keep your mouth shut and don't talk to me anywhere outside this house. Got it?" He stated in a harsh tone.

Hanna clasped her hand over her mouth, shocked that Kyle talked to me like that.

"Tina said to be nice to her Kyle!" said Hanna, still recovering from his rude words.

"I don't care what the hell Tina says or what anybody says Hanna!"

Hanna burst into tears and ran in the house. I just looked at Kyle seeing his reaction to the mess he just made. He didn't seem phased at all, this must happen often.

I walked  to the back door when Kyle called my name, I turned around before I opened the door.

"Remember what i said." He said still not a glimspe of emotion.

"Got it." I said and then went inside. I didn't want to start a battle that didn't need to be fought so I just let it go.

When I got inside Hanna was sobbing sitting on Tina's lap, saying some true and some false facts about the situation that happened only moments ago.

It was getting late so Tina told Hanna and John to go to bed. Kyle had just came back in the house and was accused of Hanna's false claims. I started to get tired so I went up to bed. I started to drift off into a zone of sleep until i heard Hanna whisper my name.

"Yeah?" I said in a sleepy tone.

"Why is Kyle so mean?" I heard her start to cry, I got up and walked over to her bed. I sat on the edge and softly rubbed her hair until she stopped crying.

"I don't know han, but you can't let him get you upset. You have to be strong." I whispered, she sat up and wiped away a few more tears.

"I'm so happy you came her" she said, wrapping her arms around me.

"Me too."

The next morning I woke to the smell of pancakes coming from down stairs. I looked at my surroundings, but I wasn't in my own bed. I was in Hanna's. I must have fell asleep here last night.

I walked down stairs still in my pajama's and saw everyone sitting at the table eating breakfast. I took a seat next to John and smiled at him, he didn't look up but when I looked away, out of the corner of my eye, I saw him look at me.

"Today, we're going to do a little back to school shopping since Kyle and Samantha start tomorrow." I almost spit out my pancakes when i heard her say this. Tomorrow? How can the first day of school be tomorrow? I'm not ready. I hate starting at a new school every year. By Junior year of high school everyone already has there groups and I'm just not prepared to start another year alone.

Once everyone got dressed, Tina took us to target. She took Hanna and John to look at the toys so we could get the necessary school supplies. As I was in an aisle checking out pencils alone, or so I thought I was alone, I noticed a very attractive male staring at me. In my sixteen years of life I've never had much 'boy experience'. Sure, I've kissed guys and went out before but nothing I would do in this situation. So I continued shopping, and he continued staring.

"Luke" screamed a green-haired male from the next aisle, that eventually walked over to the aisle we were in.

"There you are, we couldn't find you anywhere." said the green-haired male.

"Sorry, I was just browsing" says Luke with a huge smirk on his face. I scoffed, intentionally so he could hear me but continued looking through random crap I would probably never use in school.

"Well, let's go" said the green-haired male who seem to catch on to Luke's crappy joke about browsing.

They passed me on their way out and as they did I heard Luke say bye. It might not have been said to me but I don't know who else he would be saying bye too. I found Kyle in the next aisle who was looking at different calculators, but I couldn't stop thinking about the attractive blonde I just saw minutes ago.

Tina met up with Kyle and I a few minutes later. She paid and we headed home. Hanna got a new doll and John got a spiderman action figure. I tried making small talk about it with him but he just wouldn't.

The rest of the day ended quickly and it was soon night time. We all went to bed but I can never sleep on the first night of school so I just laid there, thinking of what I could have done differently in the store today, I could have talked to him. I wish I talked to him.

(((((Thank you for reading, I'm just starting out. I promise its going to be more interesting soon))))))
