Of course this would happen to me. Of course I would swing a golf club at a cute guy the day after I tackled him thinking he was a burglar. Why am I me? Why do I do this? Why aren't I helping him up?

"Here," I hold out my hand shyly. Stiles looks at it dubuiously before hesitantly taking it. "God, I 'm so sorry but you shouldn't have scared me like that."

"Couldn't help it," Stiles shrugged, clutching his side, his breathing ragged. "I didn't think you would attack me with a metal bar, though."

"It's a nine iron," Davey interjected. "A golf club."

"That's Davey," I replied, glaring over at my brother who was too busy scanning the trees to notice. "He's my little brother."

"Awesome," Stiles grimaced. "Hey, Allison."

"Hi," Allison smiled over at Scott's best friend. "What are you doing out here?"

"I'm trying to find the other half of the body," Stiles looked between the three of them. "I'm guessing you three are too."

"Well, yeah," Davey walked up to Stiles, arms crossed. "It happened right by our house. Of course we're going to try to find it! I've always wanted to find a dead corpse."

"Is it on your bucket list?" Stiles asked jokingly, looking up at me.

"Maybe," Davey said stoicly. Stiles looked up at me, alarmed. I shook my head slightly, reassuring him that, no, my brother wasn't a homocidal maniac. "Have you seen any clues where the body is?"

"No," Stiles began, then hesitated. He looked between Allison and myself before continuing. "But I did see the lower half last night."

"What?" Allison cried out. "What do you mean you saw the lower half?"

"Scott and I tripped on it," Stiles shrugged, looking over at me. Allison shook her head, also looking at me. Davey was the only one excited by this news and began asking questions about where he and Scott found the body and what it looked like. "I'll show you where I found it, but it's not there anymore."

Davey eagerly pushed Stiles forward and left Allison and I behind. I looked over at Allison who looked rather weary. I, too, felt very faint. Some girl was torn in half in the woods behind my house. I suddenly wanted to move back to Wisconsin where my backyard was a farm.

"That was were we found it," Stiles pointed out the area that was blocked off by police tape, a few of the city's officers were walking all around it, some people inside the tape, picking up leaves and examining them with such intensity. "I came with my dad."

"Hey, there's dad, Mia!" Davey shouted, pointing out our dad who was wearing jeans and a sweatshirt holding up a few sheets of papers, walking around the scene.

"Shit, hide!" I whisper screamed, pushing Davey and Stiles behind a tree, Allison hiding behind one next to us. "I don't think our dad will be very  happy seeing us here. Especially with Davey."

"I understand," Stiles nodded. He looked between the three of us, a scrupulous look on his face. "You guys are wearing the brightest clothes I have ever seen."

"Well, we didn't exactly know we were going to be hiding around in the woods," Allison deflected, trying to be quiet enough for the cops and doctors to not hear her. "What do you expect?"
