Where The Walls Come Down

I sat there on edge all morning. I was so confused about what Raurke did to me by the elevators this morning. There is one thing I couldn't shake from my head, and it was that my heart was quivering for Raurke and I don't know why. Ali looked over at me and asked, “Is something wrong, Daisy? You barely even touched breakfast."

I pushed around my plate and said, "I'm just not hungry," I got up and left the breakfast table. I was on my way out from the lounge room when I heard someone shout my name.

"DAISY!"

I stopped without turning and said, "Don't you think you have been bugging me enough, wannabe?"

"Woah, do I annoy you that much as a friend?"

I whipped around and saw Simon standing there, hands in his jeans pockets, straggly brown hair and his smile straight forward and full of light.

"Oh geez, sorry Simon. I thought you were... someone else." I replied, my cheeks tinged pink with embarrassment from yelling at my friend.

"Raurke?" Simon questioned, raising an eyebrow, shaggy hair falling in his eyes as he stepped uncomfortably close to me.

"Yeah," I said awkwardly, looking away. It was all I could say.

"That guy is pissing me off. He is so caught up in his game of bugging you he doesn't even know you hate him,” Simon said angrily. “He needs to leave you alone."

I said nothing, looking away. I didn’t know what to say. I didn’t even know what was going on with Raurke anymore. I didn't even know what was going on with me as well. I have so many jumbled thoughts and franklt, they were all filled up of Raurke.

"Do I?" a cool and malicious voice challenged behind me. Simon and I both spun around to see Raurke standing there, leaning up against the wall. His autumn eyes were cold, glaring at Simon as he pushed himself off the wall, muscles rippling. "Cuz last time I checked, she wasn't yours." He stalked up to Simon, leaving mere inches between them as Raurke moved over towereds Simon. Raurke continued to say calmly, still glowering, "I do what I want. And if you’re so worried about it, know I won't take your girl. She's not my type. If you couldn’t tell, I love bad girls." He said, his autumn eyes flitting in my direction and giving me the ghost of a smile at the last sentence.

"You bastard!” Simon grabbed the front of Raurke's shirt. Raurke just looked at him, emotionless, tilting his head to one side. Simon dragged his arm back, getting ready to punch the much taller Raurke.

I started to panic. Was this all because of me? Without thinking, I shoved between them, facing Simon.

"Stop it, Simon, he's not worth it!" I yelled, pleading. Simon looked down at me then scowled at Raurke. Giving Raurke a look and pursing his lips, Simon turned on his heel and walked back to breakfast, anger radiating off him.

Sighing and putting my hands up to my head, I sloped against the nearby wall. Boys… always are causing trouble. Hearing a shuffle in front of me, I peeked up, seeing a certain emo delinquent smiling softly. I had forgotten Raurke was still there.

Raurke looked at me, closing the gap in between us. I tried to step away, but Raurke stuck his arms out, placing them next to my head. I was trapped by Raurke’s body, like I was in a prison cell. My heart picked up speed, beating rapidly. Blushing, hoping the emo wannabe delinquent couldn’t hear my pounding heart. Why does he do this to me?

Studying me, he asked, "Are you sick? Cuz if you say you are, you're lying to me.” Swooping down, he placed his lips next to my ear.  “I think that blush is for me..." he whispered coyly, before adding on, "Daisy." When he whispered my name, it felt as if my heart was hammering to get out of my chest, like a prisoner from his cell. I felt his breath fan over my neck and his lips brush my ear. Then, something happened.

He kissed me on the lips.

My mind went blank before random thoughts started swirling around, banging on my cranium. The kiss was rough and had no meaning behind it. I don’t know how long it was, but I couldn’t breathe. Suddenly, it broke off.

"I stole your first kiss. Objective complete." Raurke whispered seductively. With that he smiled brazenly and walked away. I slid down the wall, breathing fast and heart beating so fast I could have died. I angrily came to my senses and yelled,

"BASTARD! AND I WASN'T BLUSHING I WAS TIRED!!" Raurke turned back, looking gorgeously tanned and fit. Slyly smirking, he said,

“Learn to breathe through your nose.”
