"He's fine. We were able to stop the bleeding, before it got any worse. He will need to stay here for at least a week, & if you want you may go ahead & see him. He's in room 244." The nurse said with a warm smile. She wrote something down on her clipboard & walked away. I sighed a sigh of relief.

"You ready?" I asked looking at Emani. She nodded while shedding a few more little tears. I grabbed her hand & we headed down the hall.

"Come on." I said pulling her. I'm trying to get her on the elevator. She's terrified of them.

"Uh uh." She said shaking her head.

"Please, for daddy?!" I whined. This stubborn ass little girl need to get on.

"Nooo. Can't we take the stairs?" She begged.

"Get t'f on this damn elevator now!" I demanded.

"Nope." She said popping the "p". I rolled my eyes.

"Okay, bye." I said pushing the button for the elevator door to close.

"Wait! Don't leave me here." She said opening the door back.

"Well get on, we ain't got all day." I said... fuck it. I pulled her on the elevator. She quickly grabbed onto me & shut her eyes.

Ding!

We got off the elevator & Emani was shaking.

"Oh my gosh, Mani, calm t'f down. Damn." I said annoyed. She shot me a death glare. I rolled my eyes & made my way down the hall to our dads room.

"Hi, daddy." I said walking into his room.

"Hey, baby girl. Where's Mani?" He asked, sitting up & wincing in pain.

"Easy, you don't need to hurt yourself anymore. She's trying to stop shaking from the elevator ride up here." I said sitting down beside him.

"I'm fine, Miayh. How'd you get her on the elevator?" He asked raising an eyebrow.

I chuckled. "I pulled her on. She was being her stubborn self, so I had to pulled her on." I said shrugging.

"I am not stubborn." She said closing the door.

"Whatever, Mani." I said. "So dad, how you feeling?" I asked smiling at him.

He smiled back. "I'm fine, baby girl, I told you already. Where's Zaya?" He asked.

I sighed. "I don't know. When I found you on the floor earlier, he was gone. So was "Serenity" & Malcolm." I informed, putting air quotes around Serenity.

"Why did you put air quotes?" He asked furrowing his eyebrow.

"Dad , you were gonna marry a criminal. Serenity's real name is Victoria Stevens." Mani said. Dad had a questioning look on his face.

"What kind of things has she done?" He asked furrowing his eyebrows again.

I shrugged. "We don't know. The police said numerous things."

We talked for a little while longer, until visiting hours were over. Me & Emani went home. I went & took a shower, put on some boy boxers & a tank top. & called it a night. Within 5 minutes I was out, just thinking of todays events.

I met a new girl. I fought a grown woman. Daddy got stabbed & went to the hospital. Damn what a day?
