Thank you ZazuB123 for this!!  I'm so excited for this one because I could actually think of something!!  I love the inspiration for the character and I think it works perfectly.  If you notice that the Foxfire level is never mentioned,  it's because I don't know which one.  It's basically just the characters age!!  Hope you all like it,  and ZazuB123 I hope that I developed the character like you had imagined.  Enjoy!!

The curtains in Thyme's room had failed to open but she could tell it was about time for Foxfire, so instead of wasting time clapping, she snapped her fingers and a bright yellow orb appeared above her hand. Ah, the perks of being a flasher.
The fifteen year old rubbed her emerald green eyes in a haze. Her silken dark raven hair was matted and tangled in knots. Her pale olive complexion was blotchy from snot and drool and her pillow smooshed face. She removed her covers,  revealing her unicorn pajamas. She stood slowly,  and she towered over everything.  Being above average in height (but not by much) was about the best thing in the world,  she was so intimidating but shy.
She looked at the clock next to her fluffy bed covered in a silvery-midnight woven blanket. The two-toned knit made it shimmery.  It reminded her of Tam.  The shade she so very much loved.  She plopped back down,  remembering his glinting eyes,  and his silver dipped hair. Her eyes flicked over to the clock.
"Ohhh no.  Uh oh. Ooooooh no!! Its already," she squinted, "10:00!!  Lady Serina is gonna flip!"
She rushed through her normal routine in less than nine minutes. Being an only child,  she would expect her parents to be more attentive to her,  as in making sure she went to Foxfire and got there on TIME.  But,  they mainly stayed in their room or worked in Mysterium.  Yes,  her parents were just working class.  Still above the others,  but working class.  Just as she finished clasping her Delmore crest on her cape,  she light-leaped to Foxfire.
She twinkled into the court yard in front of the glass pyramid and sprinted to the hardwood cherry-stained door.  As soon as it creaked open,  the overwhelming scent of old,  cracked books filled her senses. Sitting at a knobby table in the corner of the massive room sat Lady Serina.
There is only one way to describe Lady Serina. Pristine.  Orderly.  Strict.  About all the words you could think of that describe anything that is... well,  that is ancient.  She wanted to stick to old methods,  refusing to accept the fact that things were no longer always neat.  Her chestnut hair was pulled into a tight bun towards the nape of her neck. Her clear face makeup free,  but looking full. Yes,  she was ancient,  but also she was an elf,  so they aged VERY well.

Tapping her nails on her desk in a rhythmic pattern,  Lady Serina lifted her hair, her mouthed pulled in a taut line. "Miss Delmore. I'm very disappointed in you.  You are late for the fifth time this term.  And Midterms are coming up. I'm sure you are aware of the consequences that follow if you fail midterms?" The History Mentor just droned on and on.

"I'm veeeery very sorry,  Lady Serina.  I woke up late and I...  I'm sorry," she responded  much too quickly.

"Detention until after mid-terms.  No more dilly-dallying because YOU, " Lady Serina poked Thyme's chest, "have work to do."
Thyme wouldn't admit it,  but honestly,  she couldn't stand Lady Serina and detention was a blessing.  Maybe Tam would be there because who knows what he'd do? A faint smiled graced her lips along with a slight blush.

Something waved in front of Thyme's face, and she couldn't tell if it was a fly that she should smack,  or hand. "Dilly-dallying, Miss Delmore. Don't disgrace my achievements! You have an Elvin History book you haven't finished yet!" Lady Scream-a-lot scream whispered in her annoying nasal voice.
-----------------------------------------------------------------

Time passed rather quickly,  even though time goes neither faster nor slower,  but soon enough Thyme was walking down the hall filled with lockers and other prodigies.  She spotted Tam and almost wanted to crush him in a hug. But instead of embarrassing herself in front of his friends she decided to take a smooth cadence to prevent her silent reputation from being disproved. His friends, Sophie Foster Reuwen (the creepy girl),  Fitz Vacker (the snob),  Biana Vacker (the other snob),  Keefe Sencen (the guy with too many feelings),  Dex Dizznee (the weird machine dude),  and Linh Song (the water girl that was Tam's twin) were.... interesting.

Thyme,  being quiet and reserved,  but mostly chronically late,  strode up to Tam head down with a nervous grin on her face.  She waved shyly,  and then averted her eyes to the dirty floor and her black shoes.

"Guys,  I'll be back in a second. Shade stuff." Tam said quickly to his 'posse.'  He grabbed Thyme's hand gently, lacing his fingers with hers,  making her heart flutter. He pulled her away from the cluttered chaos,  and made her follow him out the crystal-cut French-doors to the Court yard. He sat down on the only iron bench and patted the empty spot next to him. "Come on,  it's shaded. I don't bite unless threatened." He winked,  his eye(s) not breaking contact with Thyme. (no I am not saying that Tam has more than two eyes, just that he kept one open so technically he never broke eye(s) contact)

"Thyme,  what's wrong?" he said, concern gripping his angled features.

"It's,  it's nothing." Thyme dropped her eyes to the bright green, meticulously cut grass and the worn stone that formed a path.

He rested his hand underneath her chin, tilting her face upwards until they were eye to eye.  "Oh,  but it is something. I can help."

"I don't know.  Maybe.  It's not that I don't trust you,  it's just that I feel like I am not a part of your group.  I just want to be included,  especially if this,  us,  is a thing."

"That's it?  That can definitely be fixed.  And you are absolutely positively part of our group.  Arrangement can be made,  secrets can be shared.  Why did you feel this way to begin with?  I could've helped solve this long,  long ago if you had just spoken up."

"I'm sorry. I don't know why I felt like this."

"It's nowhere near your fault.  Don't blame yourself,  Thyme.  All I can say is that,  I share with you either way.  Whatever is mine is yours,  including the shade." He gestured to underneath a maple tree and to where the shrubs had overgrown.  Tam formed a silhouette of the two of them holding hands,  walking down a beaten path.  A snapshot of the future.  The two of them,  together. They sat there all day, she even skipped detention. Just the two of them, holding hands, staring at the shadows and how the sun would shine at its brightest. A Shade and a Flasher,  light and dark.

So that's the end,  I hope you loved it!!  Comment and vote for it!!  (What does voting for the story have to do with anything to begin with?  Idk,  just vote please).
