All the sudden I ran out of breath. I fell off the chair and onto the floor.
Everything was spinning. I could faintly see everyone rushing over to me.
Voices echoed around me. "What's happening?!", "Call an ambulance!!", "Stay with us, Babe!", "She's going to be ok.", and things like that is what I heard through all the echoes going through my head.
I heard crying and yelling as well.
Next thing I know, everything is black and I can no longer hear my friend's voices.
A minute later I'm awake in the hospital with machines all around me and a small beeping roaming through the air.
I look over and I see Riley asleep in the chairs in front of the medical bed. Riley quickly rushes over to me.
"Baby, your finally awake!" I look out the window of my room and see that it's dark outside.
"Katie, what happened?" I see a look of sadness in his eyes and I knew that I had no choice but to tell him.
"I-I have lung cancer," I said with a lump in my throat.
"W-what? What do you mean you have cancer? Why was I never told?!" He said with a tear rolling down his cheek.
"I'm sorry. I didn't want you to worry. I've had cancer since I was 9 years old and I never told anyone but Abby because I was scared they would freak out and not want to talk to me anymore," At this point I'm crying as well. "The doctor said I only had 30 days to live."
At my words he collapsed to the ground on his knees with my hand in his.
He then looked at me with sad eyes and said, "How many days do you currently have left?"
I opened my mouth but for a moment no words came out.
"I only have 21 left..."
