Erza's POV
We were trotting through the forest. Azu on my horse and Titania with Jellal.
"Momma, where are we going?" Azu asked.
"We're going to a special place." I replied. It has been almost an entire year since I visited the place. We decided not to take the kids until they were six. Tania was there for her sixth birthday since we made sure she would follow us through the garden just like I did when I was younger.
Today was Azu's turn but he's a heavy sleeper so we decided to take him during the day.
"Are we there, yet?" He asked, anxious.
"Calm down we're almost there." I said.
"Okay, good because I need to pee." He said.
"Azu, why didn't you go before we left?" I exclaimed.
"I didn't have to then!" He said strained.
I looked over at Jellal and stopped my horse.
"What's wrong?" He asked.
"We have a bathroom problem over here." I said, indicating Azu behind me with my thumb.
Jellal looked at Azu and sighed. He got off his horse and helped Azu down from mine. They entered the thick undergrowth.
"Mom?"
"Yeah?" I said facing Titania who was actually steering Jellal's horse.
"Why did dad have to go with him? Couldn't he go alone?" She asked.
"There are a lot of strange creatures in these woods and your brother is still pretty young so he needs to have your father with him." I explained. "The same would go for you if you needed the bathroom out here."
"But I'm a big girl! I can look after myself!" She whined.
"I'd like to see you survive a duel with someone on my level such as aunt Kagura."
"I can always use my magic!" She said. "If they try and attack me I can blow them away!"
"You're still young and the amount of magic energy you can use won't hold you very long." I frowned. "Not only that there are some very sneaky monsters out here that could take you out in an instant."
"Just like this one!" Jellal said behind me as he placed Azu back on my horse.
"You boys ready?" I asked looking at Jellal as he mounted his horse.
"Yup!" We continued trotting through the forest until we stopped at the clearing.
"Mommy, what's so special about this place?" Azu said looking dissapointed.
"This is where your daddy and I got to know each other first. We used to talk about things that we didn't usually talk about." I smiled at him.
"I see. So it's a place of sentimental value?" He said.
"Woah! I think you've been reading too many books how do you know such big words?" I smiled.
"I read about it. The phrase 'sentimental value' means that something has emotional value that only some people will understand or know of."
"Wow! Seems like you've gotten even smarter than you already were."
"Hmph! I knew that too!" Tania grumbled in the background.
"Titania, there's no need to be like that. Need I remind you that you are very beautiful and smart in your own way." I smiled at her.
"Thanks... say, mom?"
"Yes, Tania?"
"You never really explained why you brought us here. You brought me on my sixth birthday as well." She remarked.
"Well, you see, my mother used to come here when she was queen. And when I was six I became curious of where she was wandering off to since I usually saw her running through the forest at night. So I followed her to find this place. So ever since she passed away this place had a special meaning to it. However, it became even more special when your father discovered it."
"Why?" Asked Azu.
"Because, like I said, this is where your father and I got to know each other first. And when Tania was still growing in my belly we would often spend the afternoons in that hammock over there." I said pointing to the swinging object between two trees.
"Cool!" The kids immediately went to play on the hammock.
"Just don't break it." I laughed.
"You know, this is almost seeming like a tradition now." Jellal chuckled behind me.
"Well, Titania didn't seem too fond of the idea of having children after she asked. In which I had to give her 'the talk'." I said quoting with my fingers.
"Hehe. You really think giving her that talk this early was appropriate?" He asked concerned. The same thing came to my mind when she asked but..
"I'd rather be honest with her about it than her snooping only to find out the real thing. Believe me, she'd be scarred if someone else told her and we didn't." I said folding my arms over my chest.
"You know I didn't seem to fond of having children either when I was younger, but now I'm happy I did." I smiled, watching Titania play with her brother.
"If Titania gets even prettier she'll have all the boys crowding around her. She'll get over that non-fondness for having children. I know I did."
Jellal grimaced and huffed. "If she gets pregnant while sixteen I'm killing the father."
"Jellal you got me pregnant when I was twenty. There's not a big age difference between sixteen and twenty." I laughed
"I don't care. She's still not getting a boyfriend until she's nineteen." He grumbled.
"Jellal! You know that's not gonna happen unless she can't find a good boyfriend before nineteen." I bumped his shoulder playfully.
"I know. I just don't want her to get hurt by a stupid boy." He sighed.
"You're one to talk." I uttered under my breath.
"What?" He looked at me. His brows furrowing.
I giggled. "Nothing."
I turned my attention back to the kids.
"Hey, you two, who wants to catch fish in the pond?!"
"Me!"
"I do!" They ran over to the pond and went searching for fish.
Jellal and I sat in the hammock watching them splash about in the water like I once did.
I snuggled into his body. Watching the kids. My family.
