Being at 'Vengers HQ is something.

Something special maybe, but nothing spectacular.

Most people, of course, would love to meet them or swoon over Thor and his hair or say hi to Stevie Wonder or get a picture with T.

Not me, as you may have guessed. I've known these guys (and gals, won't discriminate) for a long long time. Practically as long as I've been under Dee's roof.

Wanna know a few secrets? Of course you do. Everyone does.

Thor really really wants to be cool but doesn't know how. He resembles an old lady trying to be "hip".
Steve enjoys calling out people for cursing when he does it himself all the time. Hypocrite.
Bucky is just... weird.
Vision doesn't understand how doors work... (seriously, just turn the knob and push. Not THAT hard)
Bruce isn't allowed to play Mario Cart anymore. We don't talk about the incident. (R.I.P. toaster)
Wanda is sometimes hard to understand with her accent (I'm sorry don't tell her I said that).
Sam also thinks he's cool... he's not.
Nat doesn't know how to say something nicely.

And dear Tony. Tony is just reckless and doesn't know when to quit. Quite stubborn too.

Despite their issues and their odd ways of dealing with things, they are still a good family.

I slid the jam down the table to Tony as I munched in my own piece. My legs dangled off the side of the counter, swinging back and forth aimlessly.

He grunted a thank you as Stevie Wonder slid onto a bar stool next to him. "Rise and shine sleeping beauty. Ready to keep America alive and well with freedom?"

"Hardy har." Steve grumbled and ran a hand through his perfectly blond hair. He wore a simple white tank top and long blue pajama pants.

I smiled and hopped off the counter, sliding him the last piece of my toast. "How has it been? Hmm? You two still getting along?"

T shrugged and Cap just gave me a deadpan look. "Pft. Alright then." I sauntered over to the fridge, covered in fun magnets and pictures and smiled. Each little animal magnet held up a picture of someone special to a team member. Often times it was a 'Venger with a friend or sibling. Tony and Dee smiling from inside their suits. Cap with a smaller me on his shoulders. Nat throwing water at Clint in the pool while Bucky stood in the background. More like these littered the fridge, but my favorite always caught my eye.

It was one of me and T, me being much younger, perhaps five or six. I was knocked out like a light, drooling on Tony's equipment and blue prints, while he, still holding me, was crafting a necklace that I still wore to this day. Dee had snapped that picture, neither of us aware at that moment.

I snagged the jug of milk from its place on the shelf in the fridge and poured myself a glass. "Dee was saying something about a new recruit of yours?" I raised an eyebrow at Tony and glanced at the both of them from the corner of my eye.

T's face lit up like a light and Steve just rested his head in his hand, as if knowing this would start trouble. "Oh yeah yeah, Peter. Good kid, something with some radioactive spider and he swings around the city saving people."

A snicker escaped my lips and I had to swallow my milk before I accidentally spit it out. "You mean the guy who was able to snatch Stevie Boy's shield?"

"Hey!-"

"That's the one!" Tony raised his toast and took a victory bite out of it as I laughed.

"He must be worth something if he can de-arm the great Captain America!" I spoke with such grandeur that it even made Cap crack a smile. "He doesn't stay up here? I haven't seen anyone new around."

"Nah. He stays with his smoking aunt-"

"-Watch it-"

"-Lovely aunt," he corrected, "Down in Queens. Working on keeping a low profile."

"Must be some bum if he still lives with his aunt." I scoffed. I leaned my elbows on the counter and watched as Steve drew circles in the jelly on his toast. What a kid.

Tony narrowed his eyes, giving me a hard look. "Well most high schoolers are living with their parents or legal guardians, Runt. Is that how CPS is still running it these days?" He took the last bite of his toast, a daring look in his eyes.

"I didn't know he was in high school, gee. Child protective services shouldn't allow him to be around a bad influence like you." I snapped back with a wink.

Steve laughed and clapped a hand on Tony's shoulder. "Kid's got a point."

I flashed T a smirk which he returned with the roll of his eyes.
