The next week, Peter and I were sitting on the counter enjoying our freshly made lemonade popsicles and having an enraged conversation on the best kind of pop tart."Oh come on, have you tried the cookies and cream ones? They're so gross!" I protested and waved my frozen lemonade pop in his face.
He pouted, poking his lips out and frowned. "I just think it's better than boring chocolate!"
I held a hand over my chest and leaned backwards in mock shock. "How dare you, Webs. I am so offended. Chocolate is the best!"
Peter just shrugged and mindlessly ate his popsicle. I huffed and crossed my arms, about to make another smart remark before Dee came rushing in.
"Cor, you need to pack. We're leaving."
My eyes widened, caught off guard and I barely noticed Peter scoot away from me. "Um, what? Why? We just got back a few weeks ago."
"There's been an accident with the major. I've been called in."
"Military stuff?"
"Air force." He grumbled in response, gritting his teeth. "Come on, Tony has a jet flying us there."
"Can he and Peter come?" At his name, Webs sat up straighter and turned a bright red.
"Um, I don't have to, Mr. Rhodes..."
Dee held his head in his hand and sighed. "Not this time. Maybe another time. Just card him."
"Card?" Peter questioned, confused.
I hopped off the counter and bit off the end of my frozen lemonade. "Okay. Bye, Webs. I'll see you soon. Keep an eye out in your mail box." I winked at him as he hopped of the counter, coming to stand beside me. He gave a sad smile, and I hugged him, holding him close to me. At first he was stiff, but then I felt his arms wrap around me. "Be safe." He whispered in my ear and I nodded.
"Sorry, no promises. I'm a rebel at heart." I let him go and waved before I ran to pack.
Here we were again, on another plane. It seemed as if I was just here. I sat beside Dee, headphone in my ear before we took off. "Where are we going?"
"Langley."
I nodded and thus our trip began.
We stayed at the base, though I wish it was a hotel. A day after our arrival, I found myself at my desk with a postcard.
Webs,
I deeply wish I could tell you where I am, but it's a super top secret mission and I'm going underground for the next few weeks.
Just kidding. We're at Langley. It's not that exciting. And frankly, I wished we had stayed at a hotel. Then I could've had a chicken fight with the cute boy next door. Just kidding about that too, no one here is very exciting either. Also, they don't have chocolate pop tarts here. What a bummer. I don't even think they have cookies and cream for your weirdo self.
Dee said we might be here a little while. A week maybe.
It's not too exciting, so maybe I'll just send you lots and lots of postcards.
I wonder if I could make my own post card. With a picture? I could start my own postcard business. I copyright that, don't take it!
I miss you. Tell Tony I miss him, too.
Um also tell him that Dee is trying to add more things to War Machine. It's not going well.

P. S. Chocolate > Cookies and Cream.
Dear Chocolate Poptarts lover,
Hi, I guess. I had to google where Langley is. I'm not very fluent in military stuff.
Wait, didn't Mr. Rhodes say it was air force? I can't remember.
That's a boring way to spend a week of your summer. No pool! What kind of barbaric place are you staying?
Also, I think it would be a great idea to use pictures on postcards. I did some research, and you can still mail them perfectly fine. Can I be your business partner?
Mr. Stark said that Mr. Rhodes shouldn't add anything unless he makes it. Didn't Mr. Stark used to have a weapons industry? That's a cool backstory for Iron Man.
It's really quiet around here without you.
I'm counting down the days you get back. Maybe we could watch a movie the night you get back. Do you like popcorn? Maybe we could watch Star Wars.
I also attached a box of chocolate Poptarts. I also put a pack of cookies and cream in there too, in case you changed your mind.
~Peter Parker
Or Webs. Whichever you prefer.
P. S. That is a very wrong statement.
Webbo,
Thanks for the Poptarts. Dee and I enjoyed warming them up in the morning. I think we'll be coming home a day early, maybe in two days.
You'll probably get this when I'm already back. Did we watch Star Wars? And have buttered popcorn? That's my favorite. I hope we go swimming or star gazing.
I'll see you soon, Webkins.
Signed,
Well you already know, huh?
