Forgive

I dreaded the next day. I let out a groan as I pull myself out of bed. "Why?" I whispered to myself.
I take a quick shower, since I didn't take one last night. After my shower I dress into my robes and pin my hair up into a bun. I let some curls hang to shape my face.
I slip on my shoes, then head down stairs to breakfast. Hermione and Ginny saved me a seat.
"Hey, guys." I greet. I pulled my legs over the bench, grabbing a pancake and putting it onto my plate. "Hey, Phoebe." Hermione gestured. I can tell she wants to ask me something else. "It's okay, Hermione. I'm fine." I assure. I look up from the table to see Cedric walking over to the Gryffindor table.
"That is until now." I roll my eyes. What does he want? When Cedric comes over to the table; Ginny and Hermione tense up. I hide my face with my hands.
"Phoebe, can I speak with you-." Cedric asked. He puts his hand on my shoulder. I grab his hand and shove it away from me. I turn my attention back to my plate.
"Phoebe, can I please talk to you?" Cedric cries. I don't say anything; but continue to take a sip of my orange juice. "Come on, Phoebe." Cedric continues. He lets out a frustrated sigh. "I'm guessing that's a no-?" I quickly cut him off. "That's a Hell no." I say, putting emphasis on Hell.
"Fine, whatever." He snaps. He leaves back to the Hufflepuff table. I let out a breath that I did not know that I was holding.
When it's time for class; my heart starts to beat rapidly. We had first period together and our assigned seats are next to each other.
I walk to Charms class very slowly. As I get closer to class; my hands begin to sweat. Almost everyone is in class. Cedric is already seated. He's writing down notes in his notebook. "Here goes nothing." I mumbled.
I walk silently to my seat. I push my chair far enough from him. I could tell Cedric wanted to say something but he kept his mouth shut.
During class I would catch him staring at me. I don't care how much he begs me to speak with him; I'm not doing it. I continued to write notes down in my notebook. My hands were cramping. Not because of the writing but because I was so furious with him.

I was sitting in the library reading a book in a warm bean bag chair; when Cho came over.
"Oh.....hi, Cho." I greeted. I put my book down on the window seal I was sitting next to.
Cho began to fiddle with her robes nervously. She had a guilty expression on her face. "Cho, what's wrong?" I asked. I grabbed her hand and pulled her down to sit next to me.
Cho looks down and takes a deep breath. "I need to tell you something." She puled. I sat up straighter. "Okay?" I said in a more of a questioning way.
"I kissed Cedric." Cho sobs. My eyes widen. "What?" I whisper. "I'm so sorry, Phoebe. I don't know why I didn't mean it." Cho began to cry.
"Cho, how could you?" I fumed. Cho began to shake her head. Tears ran down herb white skin. Her breathing became hiccupy.
"Without even thinking; I gave Cho a warm hug. "It's okay, I forgive you." I rubbed her back for comfort. Cho wipes her tears.
"You're not mad?" She asked. "No. A little disappointed, but not mad." I soothed. "Besides, we are not Catty Bitches who fight over boys." I explain.
Cho lets out a small laugh. A smile was only there for a second before it disappeared. "I felt terrible you know." She whispered. "When I kissed him. It felt wrong. I felt as if I betrayed you." Cho explained.
I give her another hug. "I'm still your friend. Thank you for telling me the truth." I smiled.
"But now I need to find Cedric and apologize for my behavior." I take a deep breath and push myself up from the bean bag and grab my book.
"I'll see you tomorrow at the tournament." I leave Cho and begin to look for Cedric.
It's around 6:30 pm. The sun is beginning to set and the night is becoming colder. I walk out to the Courtyard. Hannah Abbott, The Head Girl of Hufflepuff, sat on the bench.
I quickly ran over to her. "Hannah, have you seen Cedric?" I asked. She smiles.
Hello, Phoebe. Yes, I have seen him. He should be at the Astronomy Tower." Hannah shares.
"Thanks, Hannah." I begin to walk up the tall tower. When I finally make it to the top I see Cedric leaning on the railing as he watched the sun set.
I walk over to him. "Hi, Cedric." I greeted. I gave him a warm smile but quickly pout when he gives me a hard glare. "What do you want?" He scoffs.
"Cho told me the truth." I say. I lean my arms on the railing too. We don't say anything for a while.
"I'm sorry for acting like a bitch." I break the silence. A small smile creeps on Cedric's face. "If I wanted a bitch; I would have bought a dog." He teased. I let out a laugh. "I probably deserve that." I say.
Cedric's face turn serious. "Phoebe you need to learn how to trust me. You can just assume things, without giving me a chance to explain!" Cedric yelled. He takes a deep breath.
"Do you forgive me?" I asked. My heart began to beat rapidly.
Cedric pulls me in for hug. "Yes, I forgive you."
Cedric and I stay hugging until the sun is completely down and the stars are shining bright above the midnight sky.
"Ready to go inside?" Cedric asked. I nod. We both walk down the long spiral staircase.
Once we make it down stairs, Colin Creevey, a fellow Gryffindor and cheery boy who always carried a camera rushed over to Cedric and I.
"Mr. Diggory, sir. I know you are the Hogwarts Champion-. Well so is Harry Potter, I guess your the Champion as well. I don't know who I should be rooting for. Harry's is in my house but you're the original champion. But Harry is The Chosen One after all." Colin rambled.
"Colin, calm down." Cedric laughed. Colin takes a big breath. "Professor McGonagall needs Ms. Devereux in Dumbledore's office." He explains.
I look at Cedric. "Well I guess I'll see you tomorrow before the tournament." I give him a quick kiss.
Colin leads me to a statue of a huge Griffin. "Sherbet Lemon." Colin tells to the bird. The Griffin begins to move, revealing a staircase. "Bye, Ms." Colin waves before leaving.
I walk up the stairs to a big wooden door. When I step into the office; Hermione, Ron, and Gabrielle, Fleur's sister are waiting patiently for me along with Dumbledore and McGonagall.
"Ms. Devereux, so nice of you to finally join us." Dumbledore says.
I smile. "Why am I here?" I asked. I take seat next to Ron.
"As you may know the next Task is tomorrow. We have chosen you all to be the Champions treasure to find. Gabrielle you are Ms. Delacour's. Phoebe you for Mr. Diggory. Ron for Mr. Potter. And Hermione for Mr. Krum." Ron tenses up when he hears how Hermione is Krum's treasure.
Dumbledore stand from his spot at his desk. We have created an Elixir that would put you in a slumber while you are underwater. Don't worry, you won't feel a thing." Dumbledore assures.
"He walks over to Gabrielle. "You first Ms. Delacour. She takes one small sip and suddenly falls in a deep slumber in the couch. Next Hermione, then Ron. And finally me. I take sip and instantly I feel myself growing tired until there is nothing but darkness.
