Jimin took a deep breath holding Sohyun's soft hand as he opened the front door to his house. As he expected, his parents were both waiting close by. His dad took one small look at Sohyun and nodded in approval while his mom rushed over and hugged her.
"You must be Sohyun! You're so pretty." His mom commented her pulling her inside.
"I am." She smiled at her while Jimin remained in the doorway.
"I'm so glad to finally meet you!"
"Who knew Jimin could get someone like this." His dad said making Sohyun giggle.
"You guys live in a big house. You never told me you were rich." Sohyun's comment made both of Jimin's parents hold their heads higher in pride.
The house had high ceilings and an open concept that made the house appear very large. Pictures decorated the walls along with decorative art strategically placed. Two large leather couches cornered a large flat screen. Occasionally there was a stand that would hold a large trophy that either Jimin or Jihyun had won. Usually, parents would use the trophies to boast that their child won in, and that's how it appeared. But for Jimin, it was a constant reminder that he had to be perfect.
"I mean, it isn't important." Jimin muttered.
His mom shot him a warning glare before smiling at Sohyun and directing her to the dinning area where the table was filled with a variety of food. Jimin almost snorted at the effort put into the meal. It was just a normal dinner anyway.
"...and I just thought he would give up on girls. Don't lose him." His dad continued. Jimin only zoned into the conversation to hear the ever end.
"I won't" Sohyun promised taking a seat next to Jimin.
"You two are going to make great babies." His mom cooed across from them causing Jimin to groan.
"But let's hope the genes come from you." His dad added looking at Sohyun.
"Oh I can see the little munchkins now."
"We would make adorable kids." Sohyun sang with confidence.
Jihyun cringed internally in his seat as he grabbed food for himself. Jimin saw him from the corner of his eye couldn't help but agree. The whole situation made him feel more out of place than ever, and it was his relationship that they were talking about.
"So how did you two meet?" His mom asked, she was always a sucker for a cliché relationship story.
"He asked me out during Valentine's day." Sohyun answered.
"You asked me-" Jimin started in confusion but was cut off by Sohyun.
"He was so cute. The cheeks and everything."
Jimin looked at her in disbelief then at his parents to see if they actually bought her lie. His mom cooed saying how sweet it was and his dad nodded listening looking like he was...proud? It was a rare look that Jimin seemed to never see anymore.
"Jimin has an ice-skating competition coming up, you should join us!" His mom said placing her hands-on top of Sohyun's.
"Yes! I really, really want to see him skate." Sohyun smiled at her earning her approval once again.
"He's going to beat them all." His dad smirked.
"He's the best skater." His mom answered.
Jimin squeezed his hands together under the table feeling his shoulders tense from the stress building up. All the pressure being stacked on him made him want to scream, but he didn't. He remained silent was they figured out the details.
