Jimin sniffed sitting alone on the locker room bench. After the competition his parents had yelled at him nonstop until he was finally was able to slip away. So, he came back to the locker room to think things out without interruption, thinking no one would come at this time. But his peaceful silence was cut short with a duo walked in.
"...and this is where skaters get ready before competition." Namjoon explained to a man slightly taller than him as they entered the locker room.
Jimin stayed where he was, wishing he could turn invisible. He buried his head in his hands and only looked up when someone lightly tapped his knee. Picking his head up, he saw Namjoon's daughter looking at him. She flashed him a smile with a dimple identical to Namjoon's popping out.
"Hi!" She waved cutely at him.
"Hi little one." Jimin gave her a small smile with his eyes still bloodshot from crying.
"Wow. Nice tears." Namjoon's friends said with a thumbs up, his Korean sounded awkward but since Namjoon was speaking in Korean, it was assumed he understood the language.
Namjoon pinched his arm making him yelp. The guy rubbed his arm, he was lean but still did not look weak by any means. His light brown hair pushed to the side with the edge of his bangs reaching out right below his eyebrows. Cheeks rounded yet it still managed to look thin and his lips a nice shade of red.
Stella pulled out and small box covered in a variety of stickers with a pink theme. Jimin watched as she opened it and pulled out a Hello Kitty band-aid. She stuck part of her tongue out in concentration as she carefully placed it on Jimin's swollen wrist.
"All better!" She cheered as if she just healed Jimin's injured wrist.
He had forgotten he had injured it from being in deep thought. Now that he examined it, it was close to double the size of how it was normally and was colored with dark purple in parts. Namjoon walked over to examine his wrist him self before coming to a diagnosis.
"You should go in to the doctor to check that out. I believe it is a sprain but it could be a small fracture." Namjoon told Jimin.
"It's okay Daddy. I made it all better!" Stella told him, rocking up onto her toes making Jimin smile in fondness of her.
"Yes you did Sweetheart." Namjoon chuckled.
"But Band-Aids-" Namjoon covered the mouth of his companion before he could spoil his daughters imagination.
"Don't beat up on yourself over it Jimin. Every unsuccessful skate is a stepping stone to success. Learn from it and there is nothing that will hold you back." Namjoon advised and picked Stella's small body up. She, in which, was staring at Jimin as if she was meeting a famous movie star.
Jimin nodded taking his words in. Namjoon offered him a smile if encouragement then led the man out to continue his tour of the arena. A silence engulfed Jimin as his thoughts came back. He barely payed attention to the new pair of people walking into the locker room.
"Jimin. This is Mr. Chen." His dad's voice came from directly in from on him but he held his head low to avoid looking at him. "He will be your new coach."
A rough grunt had Jimin looking up at the intimidating man in front of him. He towered over Jimin and sneered at Jimin in distaste. His hair ranged from a natural light blonde with hints of gray that was combed back neatly. The man's stance screamed power and rage. His hands wear held behind his back as he stood straight up with no sign of relaxing.
"New?" Jimin questioned in despair as he slowly stood up. Mr. Chen only gave a rough grunt as what Jimin assumed was a yes. "Ah...Hello sir." He bowed.
"He's the best coach money can buy. He will be training you in Canada." His dad explained.
"Your performance today was unacceptable. You need an enormous amount of work. We will begin right after you arrive in Canada to assure it will not happen again. You have been babied along for far too long." He coach's gruff voice made Jimin drop his graze down to his shoes.
"When are we moving?"
"Next week." His dad confirmed, making Jimin's stomach drop.
"The rink is close by your new living arrangements. I expect you to be punctual. If you are not on time to practice, it will result in a punishment that your Father and I have previously agreed on."
"Yes sir." Jimin forced out.
"Good, do not disappoint me again." And with that, his new coach walked out with his dad trailing after him.
Jimin clenched his fists in anger then winced feeling pain shoot through his injured wrist. Nothing was going right, he was losing everything so fast. It was as if his life was no longer his, he was a puppet to perfection. Grabbing his bag, he went to walk out but stopped when he nearly ran into his little brother and his current captive.
"I'm back from practice! How did it go?" Jihyun asked in his naturally cheery voice.
Jihyun was swing his hand that was interlaced with his captive. He tended to get lost easily and since he didn't have a ride from the resort to the ice rink, so Jihyun always made his favorite ski resort worker give him a ride. He was also Jihyun's crush, even if he was roughly 5 years older, Jihyun had fallen head over heels for him.
"Hey Jihyun, Yoongi." Jimin greeted tiredly.
"Sup." Yoongi nodded to him then the pink band aid on Jimin wrist caught his eye. "Yikes...that looked painful."
"Yeah...it didn't go to well." Jimin let out an angered laugh. "I'm moving to Canada, isn't that great?"
"I heard. That sucks." Yoongi shifted his weight starting to feel awkward. Even though he knew Jimin and his family for awhile now, Yoongi still found himself feeling out of place in their conversations their twisted parents.
"Thanks for walking me back!" Jihyun stepped in and rolled up onto his toes to peck Yoongi's cheek. It was a habit to kiss people's cheek.
Yoongi dropped his hand to put his hand on top of Jihyun's head to hold the energetic boy still. After his moment to take in the cheek-kiss, Yoongi looked at Jihyun, who had a cute dorky grin.
"Stop that." Yoongi only receive a giggle, he rolled his eyes. "Brat."
Jimin smiled at them, it was cute to see his short brother trying to attack Yoongi with affection. It wasn't uncommon, it was more like a daily occurrence. But Yoongi had grown a soft spot for the young snowboarder so he never truly snapped at him.
"Thanks for bringing him." Jimin thanked him.
"Sure." Yoongi said adjust his jacket. "Good luck in Canada. Stay tough and all."
"I will."
Jihyun saw Yoongi's short conversation with his older brother as another opportunity to sneak in another kiss on his cheek. Yoongi blinked quickly from the sudden gay attack.
"Would you stop that?" Yoongi looked down at Jihyun.
"Nope!"
"Take him with you. I need to get back to the resort." Yoongi pushed Jihyun towards Jimin in annoyance but they all knew it wasn't anywhere close to anger.
Jimin laughed and trapped his brother in a back hug to stop him from releasing another attack. JIhyun giggled evilly still looking at Yoongi, probably to plan his next attack.
"Bye Yoongi."
"Later Jimin. Don't forget to send me cool stuff." Yoongi stepped forward and patted the top of Jihyun's head. "You are still a brat."
Jihyun flashed him a cute smile that was able to make anyone smile. Yoongi fought against the smile when seeing it. The short boy jumped forward with puckered lips, this time his attack was aimed for Yoongi's lips. Much to his demise, Yoongi was able to side step just in time before his lips made contact.
"No. No. Nope." Yoongi adjust his jacket once more and quickly hurried out the door and rolled his eyes with a small smile hearing Jihyun burst into a laughing fit.
