That sunny day, on the eighth of September,
You took my breath away.
It was the best of times,
Little did I know
a few year later, you'd rip it away.
You were a "heart stopper"
that''s what the neighborhood folks used to frown smile and say.
I'd laugh it off, giving you a look only you could convey.
You smiled, pulling me into a passionate kiss,
"Sure stopped my heart" I'd say in pure bliss.
Until that night,
I climbed into my bike,
Ringing your doorbell, I just had to see you.
Your dad was home, he furrowed his eyebrows in confusion.
"Went over her boyfriend's house, said something about a date, said she told you, Jay," he said.
Those words punched me right in the gut.
I laughed until I realized his face held no trace of humor. Wait what?
Funny thing is, you never told your parents about us.
We were a secret for "My parents are overprotective of me" reasons, I see why.
You wanted to fool with someone's else's mind.
You sure did, yeah mine.
I now know why those folks called you a "heat stopper"
I was stupid enough to not take it literally.
I mean, for fucks sake they even warned me.
With love,
Casuallycool
