''Hi'' Rita reciprocated the smile, behind her curls, at the face that so brightly stared down at her being. ''What?'' She asked once the time he stared at her became longer than expected.
''I just-'' The boy shook his head, a smirk forming at his lips. ''It's just I've never seen someone so beautiful..'' His clear Australian accent was not the only reason she was now blushing.
He was handsome alright, the kind of handsome to stop one from breathing for a second or two as he showed how perfect his smile was.
''Dude, that's cheesy.'' She glanced to the side as she laughed.
''Ah damn, you see I'm lactose intolerant so I never know how-''
Lara Jean laughed loudly besides the girl who was trying hard not to laugh to his terrible joke, even though it was spot on her kind of humor.
''Second try was even worst man, just save yourself of more shame...'' Rita spoke shrugging while pressing her lips together.
He clenched his muscular chest, as if he had been wounded.
''Alec! Hi!'' Gen's voice almost echoed all the way to the end of the field and back, leaving a terrible ringing that throbbed inside Rita's skull.
The boy glanced over his shoulder and mumbled a soft, expressionless ''Hello'' before turning his attention back to the girl.
''I'm gonna be honest, don't even know her name.'' Now Rita laughed with so much will it sounded fake. ''First second outside class this morning she stuck to me like fucking past man, I had to run to the bathroom.'' Sometime Rita really loved how the universe took care of her battles for her.
''Alec, right? We're gonna be friends.'' Rita smiled. ''Besides your terrible approach but we're gonna work on that.''
''She liked it!'' He acted offended before pointing to Lara Jean. '''Right?''
Lara Jean shyly nodded before apologizing and standing up suddenly and Rita after cursing her friend for leaving her alone, watched her back as she jumped down the bleachers into the field, Alec's body covered the rest of her vision line.
''It's not fair you know my name and I don't know yours..You know?'' His smirk didn't seam to disappear. Ever.
''Guess.''
