Meeting Connor

I was taken to a familiar place, 'This is where Connor had that interrogation...' I thought. Connor placed me into a seat at the table, he then restrained my wrists so I couldn't do anything...Irrational. He then sat down across from me, staring at me. 'He's probably scanning me...' I thought.

Connor's pov:
I tried scanning the girls face for facial recognition.

FACE NOT RECOGNIZED, NO RECORD FOUND

'This can't be...There must be an error in my software, I'm going to have to talk to Amanda about this...' I thought, 'What way should I approach the girl? I don't want to startle her...'

"Hello, my name is Connor, I'm the android sent by Cyberlife," I said.

"I know who you are," she said.

"How do you know who I am?" I asked curiously. She didn't reply, she probably saw me on the news anyway, "Well...It's nice to meet you," I said enthusiastically, trying to be friendly. "So..." I said, "What's your name?"

"Lilly, my name is Lilly," She said.

"Who exactly are you Lilly?" I asked.

Lilly's pov:

"I already told you, I'm Lilly," I said, 'I understood what he meant' I thought, 'But if he knows I'm from some other universe...Things can go horribly wrong, especially since Amanda can see and hear everything Connor can.'

"I think you know what I'm talking about," Connor replied in a "matter of factly" way.

'Shit, he knows!' I thought, 'I need to think of something fast!' I was starting to panic, not knowing what to say.

Connor's pov:

She looked panicked but still refused to talk. "Hey...You can trust me...I promise," I said trying to gain her trust. Lilly still stayed silent, I need to be harsher if I want to get anything out of her.

"You will be put in prison if you don't answer me do you understand?!" I yelled at her. What I saw was the most heartbreaking sight, she looked so scared and she looked like she was about to burst into tears. I regretted what I said straight away, 'Wait, no...Regret is a human emotion, am I becoming a deviant?' I thought, 'No, I can't be, I'm a machine designed to follow orders and obey.'

Lilly's pov:

When he yelled at me, I was terrified, I couldn't stop shaking. I looked down while trying to hold back the tears, but I couldn't hold them back any longer and I started to cry. When I looked back up...he looked concerned...scared...conflicted. 'He's becoming deviant...' I thought, 'This is good, hopefully, when he meets Markus he'll become deviant then...'

Connor's pov:

"I...I'm sorry...Please don't cry..." I said, pleading the girl to stop. I hated seeing her cry. Suddenly she looked up at me and she...smiled...It was such a genuine smile. I couldn't help but smile back at Lilly. "Come on..." I said soothingly, "I'll stop questioning you...for now at least." I got the restraints off of her and took her out of the room. "I'll have to take you to one of these cells..." I said while pointing to the cells. "You'll be fine, you won't be there for long, " I said trying to reassure her, she slowly nodded her head and I took her to the cell at the very end. I opened the door and she walked into the cell, I closed the door and was about to leave.

"You're a good person Connor," She said suddenly, "I know you'll do the right thing."

"I'm a machine, nothing more," I replied, trying to keep a neutral expression.

"No..." She said, " You're more than that Connor, I know it."

I didn't know what to say, so I left. I saw hank at his desk and went to talk to him.

"Is she ok?" Hank asked.

"She's fine now," I informed him.

"For f*cks sake Connor why did you have to scare her like that?!" Hank yelled at me.

"I'm sorry Lieutenant," I said, for once feeling genuinely sorry.

He sighed, "Just, don't do that again ok Connor?"

"I won't," I replied.

"I'm going to go get some food," Hank said while he started to walk out of the office.

"Wait, Lieutenant!" I exclaimed.

He turned around, raising an eyebrow at me. He obviously wanted an explanation for my outburst.

"Can I come with you?" I asked.

He looked at me questioningly, I had to come up with an excuse.

"To discuss the case," I explained.

He groaned, obviously not wanting to spend his lunch discussing the case with me.

"Fine, but don't expect me to enjoy it," He replied.

Satisfied with his answer I followed him towards his car. I didn't want to admit it but partly the reason I came was that I wanted to spend time with Hank.
