Blackpaw kept an eye on the other side while they walked alongside the river where Tatterdpaw was leading them.

Thundertail looked down at Blackpaw, "Why aren't you proud of yourself, young one?"

Tatterdpaw looked back at them slightly, knowing perfectly where they were going.

"I took his eye out and lost my brother..in a way, Minnowpaw and I both lost something, he lost his eye somewhere and it's all my fault.." Blackpaw whimpered.

"But Minnowpaw's eye isn't completely lost, I have it." Thundertail confessed with ease.

Tatterdpaw's tail lashed, "Please, can this be a quiet and sensible venture from his clan?"

"Thundertail..you have his eye?" Blackpaw asked.

Before Thundertail could reply, under their paws, the ground felt squishy and dirty from small washed up pebbles that stabbed inside their sensitive pink padding of their paws; the ground they walked also had flattened grass from the river washing over its banks, the trees seemed lower from the ground being so soft, and as Tatterdpaw stopped they all saw the horrific reason why the river was washing over.

There in the far end of the river were piles upon piles of eaten away remains of cats, not much on them was left from either the strange cats Blackpaw saw before, or buzzards had gotten to them all after.

Blackpaw's jaw dropped, his eyes clouded in utter disgust and respectable sadness, he weezed not finding a sentence to say.

Tatterdpaw hopped on a rock where he found himself surrounded by the cats to try and track down what little scent they could have, "Solarclan. All Solarclan..and, Solarclan's doings."

Thundertail became silent which was unlike him, he also pressed his tail tip on Blackpaw's eyes to shield them from the scene.

"What could their reasoning be do you think, Tatterdpaw?" Thundertail mumbled, his head low.

Ultimately disgusted, Tatterdpaw hopped back on to the squishy ground that he darkly thought as their blood, "I'm not sure..but, they did mention some moments ago that they were willing to take on Jadeclan. So, I do suppose they have a fighting chance for whatever it is they are doing..perhaps Jadeclan may suffer these cats' fates if Solarclan is really that desperate.."

Blackpaw ducked his head down, "I can't be here, I'm going back to Riseclan!" He said, steping back away from Thundertail's tail then darting back the way they came before entering this nightmare, "Just close your eyes, just close your eyes, just close your eyes.." Blackpaw sadly chanted to himself hoping he could magically vanish.

Maybe when I open my eyes..

Firepaw is my brother again?

The thought of Firepaw smiling at him made Blackpaw slowly close his eyes to relish a small feeling of happiness that would creep in when he'd think of how happy his brother was.

Oh, and maybe Minnowpaw still has his eye!

In the darkness of his closed eyelids he imagined Minnowpaw sitting beside Hawkpaw, and turning his head to stare at Blackpaw welcomingly with his two yellow eyes.

If only that was all true..

Now unhappy again, Blackpaw opened his eyes to find himself in a place he had never been before..the trees were still small like back there behind him where those remains were, but also the tops of the trees looked softer..more lively and free where they touched the sky and blew in the warm breeze, where barely any leaves could be fluttering, then spinning onto the ground like a fallen bird.

Blackpaw stopped to admire the beauty he swore to himself he had never seen before, he thought to himself that this was a place of majestic beauty that Starclan had carefully made to make it look so peaceful and memorable to any traveler it was blessed to have.

Including Blackpaw, who started to enter inside this part of the forest he had never seen before..

"Blackpaw, don't go in there!" Shadepaw screeched from across the river.

Blackpaw turned his head to find his clasical reflection, Shadepaw, hopping along the stone path to reach him.

Shadepaw eventually padded beside him, then unknowingly yanked Blackpaw by his scruiff then pulled him away onto the riverbank.

Confused, Blackpaw looked up to him once he was released, "I don't understand..it's beautiful in there, why can't I go in?"

This sad question of complete innocence made Shadepaw's eyes sadden and darken from the truth, "Inside that forest, was once Faintclan's first territory, until two-legs walked in then set traps along that territory," Shadepaw continued telling the tale of the awful two-legs that would come into territories, capture cats then take them to where they were never seen again, "Any cat that goes in there, will never make it out..they end up being welcomed into Starclan by their clan-members, because they all know what happens to them when the two-legs get them.."

Sickeningly curious, Blackpaw asked, "What happens?"

"They die."

Blackpaw should had expected the grimess of today being the start was him taking Minnowpaw's eye out, finding those watery remains then finding this beautiful part of the whole forest that had a dark truth.

So, Blackpaw shivered in fear until he remembered what those Solarclan's were saying about attacking Jadeclan, "You-your clan is in danger, Shadepaw..I'm scared because it's Solarclan..th-they.."

Shadepaw stared down at Blackpaw, "They what?"

Blackpaw squeaked out finally, "They..eat cats..their own clan, I saw that they eat them alive for food, that's why they want to attack Jadeclan because your clan has more prey than them!"

Instantly shocked, but also unbelieved, Shadepaw's eyes narrowed.

"I'm serious, down that river you will find remains, I'm not lying about this!" Blackpaw whimpered, begging.

"Show him, Blackpaw, that is the only way you'll be able to prove this massive claim." Thundertail whispered inside Blackpaw's mind.

Blackpaw started to tug on Shadepaw's tail, "Please, follow me, I'll prove it to you if you choose not to believe me!"

Shadepaw inhaled in agreement, the two ran back down the river Blackpaw was before with Tatterdpaw and Thundertail.

There, Blackpaw pointed his long tail at the horrific scene that for some reason he felt used to this time, "Their scents are still thick if you wanted to check.."

Shadepaw didn't even check, he just hopped on the same rock where Tatterdpaw was on before, "Help me push them down the falls..they don't deserve to have a final resting place here in a pile."

Blackpaw nodded, he mortifyingly hopped on his rock then they altogether began pushing the disgusting remains off a rock that they were stuck on, to let them all drift away.

Both of them watched the remains join the fast current again that pushed them down the falls.

Shadepaw got up to hop off the rock where he found himself standing in a warm and cold substance..

"Maybe..you should go back to your clan, make sure to never enter Faintclan's old territory..inside there, is Death forest, in case you wanted to remember it.." Shadepaw meowed to him, knowing exactly what this substance was..

Blackpaw nodded in goodbye, then ran away back to his clan.

Leaving Shadepaw in his pool of blood that he refused to move from.
