Audrey's POV
It's been a month since my mom released her single called Mean. Mason was featured in the music video and actually came out in an interview a couple days after. He came out and the world listened, reacting so much better than we all thought. The single hit number one in 13 minutes and my mom freaked out, running around house screaming "oh my god 13! I told you it was lucky!"
My dad is still with that girlfriend of his, but I heard my parents 'celebrating' the night of. I don't know what to think of this, he's cheating on his girlfriend with my mom. Raising questions as did he ever cheat on my mom? or is this just because he loves her? But if he loved her then why is he still with Karlie and if my mom knows that he's still with Karlie then why is she secretly with my dad. And even why is she sneaking around with him if Mason and I told her that we'd be okay with them back together?
Honestly it's all kinds of fucked up to me.
"Audrey wake up! We have to go get your dress!" my mom barges into my room with that stupid camera man. We're being filmed for a documentary Scott wants for my mom to help her get back into the spotlight. I don't know, but it's super annoying, every time I turn around there's a fucking camera in my face. I've actually ran into the camera about four times within the one week.
"I'm tired!" It was my first Sunday off of volleyball and all I wanted to do is sleep. But no, I have to go get a stupid dress for the Grammy's tonight. Yeah, we were supposed to shop last week and the week before, but I threw a fit because I don't want to shop for a dress that I'm going to wear once. My mom loves to dress up and wear makeup, doing the good ol' make myself pretty thing.
"Audrey! Get up!" she screams from down the stairs, before coming back up and throwing the blankets off of me.
"I don't want to go"
"Mason! I need you to clean up the kitchen" she walks over to my dresser and pulls out clothes for me, "come on, get in the shower and get ready. We're leaving as soon as your father gets here"
"Why is he coming?"
"Mason and he both need their suits fitted"
"can't Mason and I just stay home tonight?"
"No, now get up" she pulls me off my bed by my ankles and I hold my bed post, pulling myself back up, "Audrey"
"I'm too tired!" I hold on tight and she continues to pull me, "Mason! Save me!" He runs up the stairs and laughs.
"Good luck, mom forced me out of bed too"
"Audrey it is noon, you shouldn't be this tired"
"I'm sick!" I fake cough and she lets go of my ankles, "I have a fever"
"Oh no, Audrey are you feeling okay?" she mocks and runs to the side of my bed looking at me, "poor baby, let me go get you some medicine" she walks away and I let go of my bed post. She quickly turns around and grabs me, dragging me off the bed
My stomach hits the floor with a loud thump, "that's so not fair!"
"Get in the shower" she smiles at me and walks out the room with Mason behind her.
Ever since the single dropped and her twitter followers rose, she has become more confident and vibrant. I mean like good for her and shit, but I can't do this preppy morning shit she's been into.
The more my mom is in the limelight, the more people love me at school and I couldn't say being the most popular girl is school is annoying; until now. People want to hold parties at my house and play the instruments and be part of this documentary and Bethany is struggling to keep her cool.
