Tale 1: The First, Chapter 4: The Morning After

Calli: So...

Nate: .......So...

Calli: So..... is Elijah...

Nate: He said he's fine....His wounds are better than yesterday.

Calli: Is he going to school? The Star dance?

Nate: Yes and yes.

Calli: Are you sure he's okay?

Nate: I stayed with him the rest of the day, he said he's fine and... I trust his judgement.

Calli: You look like you haven't slept.

Nate: I didn't get much, but i'm still gonna keep my head up high. We have a job to do and i'm determined to make this the best day ever!

Calli: Even after....

Nate: Yes, even after that homophobic dolt hurt my Elijah!... I still want to try to start today as a brand new day.

Calli: I agree...shall we get started?

Nate: Abso-tuti-friggin-lutely!

~Elijah~

I woke up in a cold sweat five minutes before my alarm. I was early..... Again. Did that all just really happen? Am I lost in a dream?... I groggily got up out of bed and started getting ready for school. I looked at the bandages on my right knee, it has really been through alot this week. First the stairs, then running into the same person who just so happened to help me.... Nathaniel. I remembered everything from yesterday. First the attack, but then a ray of hope.

Nathaniel: After Elijah's attack this is what you missed.

Calli: Seriously, a Goddamn flashback

~Elijah~

"Elijah!" Nathaniel said as he ran into the infirmary.

I tried to make an effort to get up, but I felt hot and dizzy.

"Nate?" I responded in both shock and surprise.

"I'm- I'm here! Oh my God! What happened?" He had such concern and fear in his voice, I could see his eyes begin to water.

I reached out my hand, and he carefully wrapped his hands around mine.

"Thankfully his wounds aren't too horrible," the Nurse explained, "We can patch those up and send him back to his dorm today."

"Are you okay Elijah?" He asked.

His hands were warm and soft, even in a simple kind act as this, I could still feel that he had such concern for me. It was comforting to have a friend like that, I was so distracted by his hands that I had almost forgot what had happened.

"Nate, I'm fine... the cuts don't hurt. But I was attacked." I confessed.

His eyes grew with even greater concern.

"Who attacked you?" Dr. Dodo asked in concern.

"Jack! Jack Clubs did this!" Calli yelled as she entered the room.

"Look after them nurse," Dodo ordered. "I'll go find Jack."

"I'll be right back, I need to get you some Ibuprofen, the strong kind." The nurse said as she began to walk out of the room.

"You mean the good kind?" Calli said.

"Not good enough to make me forget my ex husband, but it works!" the nurse said as she passed the threshold.

"You would think the only thing school nurses would have would be ice huh?" I said jokingly.

Both of the Grimms were in front of me, they looked so scared. If anything, I was confused as to how Calli knew about the attack.
