C H A P T E R S E V E N

   Mark drove us back home in his car while I explained what happened tonight.

I sat in the front with Mark while Tom sat in the back.

Tom looked lost and just stared out the window as I told Mark how we wrapped Tom's car around a light-post.

"Jesus Tom, you're killing me dude.."

Mark sighed and white knuckled the steering wheel.

I looked at the dashboard hazily and looked at the green numbers,
it read 3:30.

"I'm sorry you had to come out all this way Mark.. Especially at this hour."

He stayed silent, he nodded and looked ahead out on the dark road.

The only source of light coming from Mark's car headlights.

I looked back at Tom and found him fast asleep with his head against his knuckles and his arm resting on the door.

"Where are we Mark?"

He sighed at my question.

"Were like a couple miles away from Ballena."

We drove that far?
Fuck.

I leaned back in my chair and placed both of my hands on my face.

I groaned in frustration. I mumbled out another sorry to Mark.

I soon felt myself sobering up, but I just felt drowsy at the moment.

I soon fell asleep, the last thing I saw was the vast desert of San Diego California.

I woke up again to someone shaking me, I didn't budge so someone carried me out of the car.

I heard the car door close and they started walking,
then there was a jingling of keys and a lock being turned.

I heard Mark's voice and I assumed he was talking to Tom.

"You guys could sleepover tonight, my parents aren't going to be home for awhile.
But you guys gotta stay in the living room."

He sighed, I heard his heavy footsteps fade away and a door closing in the distance.

I was then let down on a soft and comfy surface. Probably a couch.
I felt the couch dip next to me and a certain 6'4 figure cuddling next to me.
I rested well that night, or I thought I did.

As it turns out, I was only awoken merely hours later.
Of course I didn't want to, but my body forced my eyes open.

I couldn't breathe.
I couldn't move.
I can't talk.
What is happening?

I could only make these pathetic whimpering noises and I try to reach out to Tom but I couldn't
move anything.

I started panicking and it was only then Tom woke up when I started crying. 

Tom was in high alert and woke up from his groggy state.
