*Recap
It had been a couple of days since the 'incident' at the party. (Y/n) still hasn't departed from Anne's house, afraid of coming back to her shared apartment and not knowing where else to go. Tom has also taken residency under someone else's house, Mark's to be specific. He was also hesitant about coming back home. Although Tom and (y/n) haven't had any contact with one another, they certainly missed it. Now, Anne and Mark now make it their priority to help these two get back together, for their sake and for Mark and Anne's sake.

One day later

It had been a while since (y/n) had left the house, she thought she had no reason too.
She thought that she was perfectly content with watching television and stuffing her face full of poorly homemade meals during the day.
She'd be wrong though, as she has gained absolutely nothing from it.
She knows this but tells herself off anyway.
She convinced herself that she didn't need anyone or anything else.
Her essentials and all that she needed was in stored away in Anne's tiny home.
Knowing this, Anne has tried nonstop to get her best friend in contact with the outside again. (Y/n) is in truth her best friend, but she'd be damned if she didn't try and push (y/n) out of her house.

After all, Anne just wanted her friend back (and her space and more importantly, her food).

Anne hung up the black cord dial phone from her nightstand after receiving a call from Mark. She huffed in frustration and began to pace in a straight line back and forth in her room.

Left, right, left, right. One foot in front of another as Anne tried to formulate a mental plan for what's to come for tomorrow.
Even though Anne and Mark had already established a game plan for Tom and (y/n), she believed that their 'elaborate plan' was yet to be foolproof and had still room for improvement.

She laid on her bed, she sat in her chair in the corner of the room and yet, she couldn't think of anything. Anne laid on the edge of her bed with her head hanging upside down, hoping that she would think of something.
Her thoughts fell short however when she heard rustling beyond her bedroom door.

Anne lifted herself off of the bed and started making her way to her living room where (y/n) sauntered.

"(Y/n)? Everything okay there?" Anne peaked her head and peered into her dayroom.

(Y/n)'s POV

*A day earlier

As I walked down Anne's driveway, I grabbed her house key she keeps under a fake rock by the doorstep. I opened the front door, arms full of groceries I bought down the street.
I shut the door closed the door with my foot, locked it, and placed the bags down on the tiled floor.
I tiptoed into the living room as to not wake up Anne from my late night shopping.

I rubbed my eyes, making a poor attempt to get rid of my drowsiness. I walked over to the brown sofa and took off my shoes and jacket. As I was about to get comfortable on the couch and rest, my cellular chimed on the coffee table.
The alert instantly woke me up, despite my conscience instructing me to go back to sleep. I picked up my flip phone and I got a text.
My heart clenched, naturally guessing who it could be texting me at this hour.
As I was about to delete the message thinking it was another of Tom's drunken texts, I took a second glance at the caller I.D.

It was actually Billie. I smiled at the tiny screen and opened the text.

You see, for the past two days, Billie and I have been texting and calling one another when we both couldn't get ourselves to sleep.
Because we both suffered from the pain that is insomnia, we figured we'd make the most of it.
Turns out, that we actually have a lot in common. Of course, we both shared the same music tastes.
One of our favorite bands were The Ramones, we both loved Joey.
We also both shared some of the same T.V. shows, favorite snacks, and so on and so forth.
But most importantly, we were both horror movie junkies.

Italics: You

Bold: Billie

B.J.
Hey, you up?

Yeah, what's up?

B.J.
Nothing much, but I did drop by Blockbuster today. Got a surprise for you.

Really? What's the occasion?

B.J.
I bought that one scary movie, Evil Dead. You've been wanting to see that movie right ?
Don't see why, it's pretty old.

Wow Billie, thanks so much! I'm  surprised you remembered.
And hey, it's only a few years old.

You smiled to yourself and held your phone to your chest, a happy feeling started to spread through your body. Billie had remembered which movie to buy. This made you happy especially since you and Billie had gone on an extremely long talk over what was the goriest movie of the  80s. This was a feeling you haven't felt in awhile, the one you missed so dearly.

You both continued to talk throughout the night.
Both talking about nonsense and occasionally cracking dad jokes here and there.
Your cheeks burned from smiling and a certain fluttering feeling you chose to ignore.
Billie at heart was a thoughtful and insanely funny guy.
And not to mention downright gorgeous.
Of course, you quickly shut down that idea. There was not a chance in hell that you would be hooking up again.
As you were close to drifting off to sleep, Billie sent another text.

So, are you coming over tomorrow to watch Evil Dead with me?

Yeah, Of course! When should I come? What the address?

7:00 sharp. Tbh, I can come by and pick you up if you want.

Sounds great Bil, can't wait to see you :)

As you read back at your sent text, you started to cringe.
Did I really just say that?

You honestly wanted to throw your phone off of the balcony at this point.
Until you heard a beep.

Can't wait to see you too princess, goodnight xx.

At this point, your eyes were as wide as saucers. Did you read that right?
Surely, this wasn't more than a platonic thing, right?
There's no other explanation for it!

You rubbed your chin in deep thought. There's no way you're doing this whole dating scene again. Not after what had happened.

You decided that this was something you didn't need to worry over. Perhaps you were over thinking things.
Either way, fate has an awful way of twisting things.

*hey loves, I'm back from the dead.
After much thought and feedback I've gotten from this book, I've decided to revive this series. I might go back and edit small details within the story.
So from here on, enjoy the story!
Thank you to everyone whose read this far ily <3
