Parker's P.O.V.

After many hours of unpacking and planning what my room was gonna look like. We did it. It was around 8:30 at night when we got done. Shayne, Damien and I looked around. We did a pretty damn good job.

14 years ago - Parker was 12.

This has been the third foster home that Parker had been sent too. It was on the other side of Ohio. She hated this place already. She walks into a room and places her small suitcase into a room with 2 beds on either side of the room. One side was filled with pink, girly stuff and a name that was spelt out using magazines. "Jasmine" while the other side is blank. Parker is guessing that's her side of the room. It has one dresser. A small desk and a twin bed. She walked over to bed and placed her suitcase in front of the bed. Parker sat down on the bed and looked around.

"Now I know this will be an adjustment, but you gotta give these people a chance Parker, because they are giving you one." Mary Forbes, Parker's social worker says.

Parker just continues to look around the room. She hasn't said a word in 3 weeks.

"I'm sure she'll be okay Mary." Bethany Jones, the woman who is fostering Parker and 4 other kids. Parker quickly looked up and saw a woman, looked to be in her 30's with long brown hair, and dark green eyes.

"There is a great school system here, the kids here are nice. The neighborhood is great. She's in good hands." She says.

"I know Bethany. I'm just trying to comfort Parker." She says as she hunches down to my level as I'm still sitting on the bed.

"Listen kiddo, I'll be back in a few weeks for an evaluation. Be good and please. Don't get moved again. This is the third time. Let's not make it a fourth." Mary says with a stern look and pats Parker's leg and stands back up.

Parker just nods and Mary and Bethany leave the room but Bethany comes back to tell me. "Dinner will be ready soon. I'll leave you to yourself so you can unpack." She says with a wide grin on her face. I just nod and still continue sitting on the bed.

She gets up and place the suitcase on her bed and take off her backpack. She unzips her suitcase and takes out the clothes she has and walks over to dresser of her side of the room, the one that didn't have stickers all over it. She places her skateboard on her dresser, leaning up against it. She place her clothes inside and shut it and continue to do so for what seems like forever but really it was about 30 minutes. Then, Parker takes stuff out of her backpack, a thick sketchpad, a pencil pouch and her knitted baby blanket, that she's had ever since she could remember. She placed the sketchpad and pencil pouch on her desk. She then takes a folder out. It had pieces of paper with drawings on them. She wanted to decorate her side of the room. She looked all around the room for some tape and noticed it on the other side of the room, to "Jasmine's" side of the room.
