All day Ariel day dreamed about the man she saw. She sat on a rock and pulled off a petal from a flower one by one. As Ariel pulled a petal she repeated, "He loves me, he loves me not." On the last petal, she said, "he loves me." She gasped. Ariel longed to be with the humans.

Sebastian joined Ariel on the rock. "Sebastian, isn't the human world so amazing?!" Ariel asked Sebastian while looking up towards the sky. "I want to see him. Oh, he'll be pleased. I can get Flounder and Scuttle's help. I'll go tonight!"

"Ariel, listen to me. The human world, it's a mess. Life under the sea is better than anything they got up there." Sebastian told Ariel trying to persuade Ariel not to be interested with the human world. Sebastian had all the other creatures of the sea try to persuade her too, but she left to see the ending.

Ariel swam with her pal, to her secret grotto. "Flounder, why can't you tell me what it is?"

"You'll see." Flounder told Ariel keeping it a secret. Ariel moved the rock, and there it was. A statue of the man. It was amazing!

"Flounder, thank you. It looks just like him." She giggled. "It even has his eyes!" While Ariel was admiring the statue of her beloved human, Sebastian was having a conversation with the king about Ariel. Sebastian though the king knew that she saved a human, but he accidently spilled.

King Triton, along with his Triton and he burst into the grotto. The furious king saw his smallest daughter playing around with the statue. She spotted him, and tried to explain. King Triton didn't want to hear anything more. He took his triton and destroyed everything in her grotto. He aimed the triton at her statue. Ariel swam to him and screamed, "Daddy NO!" But it was too late. It was gone. He was gone.

Ariel sat down on the rock inside her destroyed grotto, and cried. Two eels swam beside her. "We know someone who can help." They told the broken hearted mermaid.

"Who?"

"Ursula."

"The sea witch?" She questioned. Ariel whipped away her tears. She followed where they lead her. She was frightened at the sight before her eyes. She knew what she had to do to be with her prince. She swam into the frightening sight. She heard a voice from the darkness. An octopus fell out of the darkness. She had a deep voice and purple and black tentacles. The octopus introduced herself. She gave Ariel an offer. "The only way, is to become a human yourself." He told Ariel.

"Can you do that?" Ariel asked.

"My dear, sweet child, that's what I do. That's what I'm here for." The sea witch offered Ariel to make her human for trade of her voice. "On the sunset of the third day, if he does not kiss you, you belong to me." Ariel pondered this inside her head.

"Can I give you something else?" Ariel asked.

"Yes. But there is not really anything I want." The witch told her.

"Can I pay you 2000 clams?"

"2000 clams?" She repeated. 2000 clams. "It's a steel!" She exclaimed. Ariel wrote the octopus a check for 2000 clams. Ariel drank a potion and couldn't breathe. Flounder and Sebastian helped Ariel rise to the surface. Ariel flipped her hair with water dripping down the side. She sat on a side of a rock.

"Sebastian!" She shouted.

"Ariel." He sighed. "What will your father say?!"

"You won't tell him. Will you?!" Ariel begged him.

"Oh, fine."

Sebastian grabbed a piece of clothing drifting away. Ariel put it over her head. "You need this."

Ariel tried to stand. Her legs were very unstable. Her legs wobbled and she fell in the ocean. Ariel crawled to the shore. She paced on the shore, walking around, practicing.

From a distance, Ariel heard barking. A shape came charging at her. She was frightened. Ariel ran away from the shape, and climbed on a rock. A man came running after the shape chasing Ariel.

"Hi." He said and calmed the dog.

"Hi." Ariel said.

"You." The man said. "You're the one. What's your name?"

"Ariel," Ariel told him. The man held her hand. "My name is Eric." Ariel giggled. "Do you have anywhere to stay?"

"Um no." Eric put his arm over her shoulder. "Come on. You can stay in my castle."
