Ariel swam around feeling free, and she remembered why she came. She placed the utensil in its place. She studied it thinking about what it did. "Flounder," She said. "Remember what Scuttle said this does."
"He said it was a dinglehopper. Human's use it to straighten their hair."
"Flounder." She guided her hand around the grotto. "Look at this stuff, isn't neat? Wouldn't you think my collections complete? Wouldn't you think I'm the girl, the girl who has, everything?" Ariel swam around admiring all the lost items from the humans. "I want to be part of their world." She told Flounder. Ariel swam out and swam to the surface where the air hits the water. Ariel saw a boat and saw lights. She was so fascinated about what she saw. She swam closer to see more. She saw humans on the ship having a fun time. They were playing music and dancing across the deck. The king's advisor, Sebastian followed Ariel. Ariel touched the side of the ship. She peeked her eyes through and saw a man playing the flute, and dancing with his dog. He was the first human she had seen up close before, and not in her books. "Wow." She mumbled to herself. The dog smelt something, and walked towards Ariel. She noticed, and she ducked under the water. "Flounder, can't you just imagine?!" Ariel was so amazed at the man.
"Ariel. I am sent from your father, and he doesn't want you going to the surface." The crustacean told the curious mermaid.
"Sebastian, isn't this the most wonderful thing you ever saw?" Ariel asked Sebastian.
"No. Ariel listen to me, you need to go back home, or I'm telling your father." He warned her. She agreed and they swam away from the ship. Soon, before the ship disappeared off in the distance, she heard a loud 'pop.' She wanted to know what it was. She turned around and she saw colours flying through the air. She heard loud pops and saw colours. It was an amazing experience. She swam closer to the ship, disobeying what the king's advisor just said. Ariel's eyes almost popped out of her head. She was in shock because it was amazing! She swan closer and closer. And she heard something, but it wasn't a pop from the fireworks. It was the sound of lightening. The lightning had a mind of its own. The lightning came in contest with the ship. A fire flamed from the ship. Fire is life and destruction. The fire was growing bigger and bigger by the minute. The whole crew jumped off the ship and onto a smaller boat. The man Ariel has been watching, jumped back on the boat. He shook his head in all directions. Ariel could tell that he was looking for something. The man ran towards the fire. He jumped away from the flames and crashed on the ground. He looked around him, looking for his dog. He stopped him a few feet away surrounded by flames. He jumped over to the dog and petted him. He threw the dog over board and he swam to the boat that was waiting for them. The man stood up and fell down. He was hit by a flying piece of driftwood. The boat started to sink. He went down with the ship. He sank to the bottom of the ocean. Ariel swam as fast as she could. She was slicing through the water like a torpedo. She grabbed his arm that was above his head, and she pulled him to the surface. She set him down on the sand, and she laid beside him. She stroked his hair, and she spoke some words to him. His eyelids started to movie very slowly and he opened his eyes. He was still waking up and he saw Ariel's red hair. He smiled at her. She dove back into the water and watched the man from behind a rock.
