Tommy woke up the next day, he heard Raven's voice in his head. Raven: Tommy... - Tommy: Yeah? - Raven: I came up with an idea... You can warp wherever you see yourself now, right? - Tommy: Yeah, but not at the moment... - Raven: Well... Warp yourself home while you guys are at the bank, tonight! – Tommy: If he took my parents somewhere, if I warp, he can call his brother and they will die! – Raven: He'll be arrested, before his brother finds out! You have to try! – Tommy: I'll have to think about it... I don't know! – Raven: He'll kill you in your sleep! You have to get out of there! – Tommy: He won't kill me, he needs me! – Raven: So does your family! – Tommy: Before I do anything, I need to know they are okay... - Raven: If he sets his phone down, when he takes a shower, swipe his phone, really fast!
W. woke up, yawned and stretched. "I'm gonna take a shower. I'll give you your injection, when I'm done." W. said and walked into the bathroom. Tommy: Great! Now what? – Raven: He lets you go to the bathroom right? Tell him your stomach is sick. The bathroom has a fan that turns on automatically. If you talk quietly enough, he won't hear you. – Tommy: I'm scared... Raven: I'll help you. I'll be there. It will be alright!
W. came out and put his shirt on. He walked over to Tommy and injected Tommy's arm. A few seconds later, Tommy sat up. "I have to go to the bathroom! My stomach feels sick!" "Hurry it up." "With the way my stomach is, I can't make any guarantees!" Tommy glanced at the phone, on the night stand. W.'s attention was focused on the T.V. news. Tommy went around the corner and moved W.'s phone slowly, down the back of the night stand. When the phone reached the floor, like a snake, he quietly slithered it across the floor and over to the bathroom. He closed the door quietly and turned the fan on. He dialed his mother's cell phone number with his mind and put the phone to his ear. "Hello?" His mother answered. "Mom?" "Oh my god! Tommy?! Where are you?!" "I don't have long... I just need to know where you are and if you are okay!" "Yes! Mr. Okerlund is with us. He told us everything! He has everything you need, thanks to a friend of his! Everything will be okay! Just come home!" Tommy was relieved. "I'll be there, tonight! There's still one thing I need to do. I love you, Mom!" Then he hung up. Tommy slid the phone slowly back to the nightstand and walked back out.
"You ready?" W. asked. "I'm hungry!" Tommy said. "Well, I guess we'll need to get those powers some energy then! Let's go to McD's!" "I wish I could talk to my family..." Tommy said, in attempt to throw W. off-guard. "When I'm through, you'll go back, kid!" W. replied. Tommy sighed. "I miss playing Call of Duty..." "You're tellin me..." W. replied. "Ya know what I miss, kid? I miss watching cartoons and wrestling with my brother outside! Back then, I felt like that was all there was to life... I miss having no responsibilities, not having to worry if I'll make it until the next day. I miss just being able to pretend! The world was nothing but imagination. I miss my mom too, ya know? The only difference is, I have no mom to go back to... Yet, here we are. We can't go back..." W. finished, as he stood up.
W. and Tommy walked over to McDonald's. To their left, there was a group of tables and booths, next to that, there was a room with tunnels that kids could crawl through. It was pretty crowded for a Monday morning, so they sat near the glass window, where parents could watch their kids play in the play area. There were kids running everywhere. "Okay, so you know the drill. We hit the bank, you block people from coming in and then we warp outta there!" A child ran by, his father followed behind. The father was close enough to hear everything, but W. stayed quiet after that. Tommy watched these two kids run into the tunnel. Their father went to the bathroom. They started to climb the safety net, above the tunnel. After they scaled over the top. They climbed across the top of each of the tunnels, then they started to climb the safety net, to their right. They climbed over and then started climbing down the other side. The kids got to the lower part of the net and looked behind them. The boy closest to Tommy, looked down and saw a chubby mother, with dark, curly hair, with her daughter and her son eating, at a nearby table. The boy jumped off the net, spun his body, to face the table he was looking at. His two feet landed on the mother's cheese burger and fries. Mayonnaise went flying onto the mother's shirt. "Excuse me!! Where are your parents?!!" The woman exclaimed. The father walked in. "Mikey! Get down!" The mother stood up and pointed at the man. "This is your son?! He destroyed my lunch!" "I'm sorry... Come on, buddy!" "Um... I think you owe me a burger and fries!" The man picked his son up and walked away. "Excuse me, sir!" The woman stormed off after him. "Wow! This is quality trailer park entertainment!" W. commented. "I was bullied a couple weeks ago. This kid Randy and his friends tried to push my head in dog poop! Randy's dog growled and chased after Randy's friend Viktor! They all ran after him!" W. laughed. "Life imitates cartoons!" He said.
They started walking to the bank. They were wearing their hoodies, to help hide their faces. It was a warm day, so it wasn't exactly the most comfortable attire. They were walking on the side of the road. Cars and trucks were whizzing by, some cars even honked at them, then they'd jump! The nice thing about the cars whizzing by, was the breeze it gave them. There were random paper cups with lids and straws scattered around the side of the road. Beer bottles, plastic soda bottles, soda and beer cans, condoms, rotten banana peels, as well as other trash items, were scattered around.
Once they reached the bank, Tommy destroyed the outer cameras and sent his energy ball through the wall, to break through. When the police barricade the wall, disappear! Raven said to Tommy. I know! Tommy replied. Tommy unstrapped the guards' helmets as they entered and slammed their heads together. They seemed to be prepared for the attack. Tommy put the field up on the wall and around themselves. W. was gathering the money in the bag, when Tommy heard a loud screeching sound. He covered his ears and fell to his knees. "What's goin' on, kid?!" W. asked. "There's some kind of loud screeching noise! Something is interfering with my powers!" "Damnit! Alright, new plan!" W. grabbed a grenade he packed from the warehouse out of his bag and grabbed Tommy. He pointed the gun at Tommy's head. "Don't come closer or the kid dies!" The officers backed away. W. spotted a satellite on a police van, in the lot. He let Tommy go for a second, unpinned the grenade and tossed it at the truck. Two men jumped out of the truck as it exploded. Tommy put the field back up and waited for the police to close in. As soon as they lined up near the wall, Tommy looked at W. and laughed. "What's so funny?" "Nothing. I gotta go!" "We'll go to the bathroom, after we warp outta here! Just wait a second!" "No... I'm gonna go, now!" "You'll go when I... Hey!" W. shouted. The police officers charged in and Tommy beamed himself back home.
He looked around, it had been a month since Tommy got to see his kitchen again. "Hello?" He called out. His mother rushed into the kitchen, with Dean and his father following behind.
