"Trust me kid, we have a ton more copies back at the office."

“So…” Harry says, trying to start a conversation. We’ve been in the car for 5 minutes and it’s already awkward. “Have fun yesterday?” he asks taking his eyes off the road to look at me.

“Eyes on the road mister!, and yes, I did have fun.” Too bad my Dad’s workers are gonna use that ‘fun’ to make my life a living disaster.

“Oh, cool.” We fall back into a silence

“You know it takes four seconds for a silence to become awkward?” I ask. Harry laughs.

“I had no idea. How many seconds have we had, 80?”

“Well in that case, we’ve had about 20 awkward silences.” I joke.

Harry laughs “I think more.”

“Yep.” And another silence falls upon us. We both burst out laughing.

“21.” Harry says. Not long after, we arrive at the café. I see a man standing outside and I already know it’s my Dad. He’s wearing one of those really big coats that come down to your knees and a brown hat. He’s also leaning on the wall while smoking one of his cigarettes with his hands in his pockets. Yeah Dad, no one will suspect you.

“You can stay here.” I say before opening the door and approaching him. “You have five seconds to explain!”

He points a finger at me “Calm it.” I stay quiet. “What is he doing here?!” he points at Harry this time. Harry, still in the car, is looking at us with a weird expression.

“He drove me.” I glare at him.

“I told you to come alone.” He glares back.

“You said no such thing and even if you did, they wouldn’t have let me.”

“And why is that.” My Dad snaps. See, this is the thing between us. We’re fine one second but the minute someone says something about us, we go at it like cats and dogs.

“Trust me old man, I tried convincing them but they wouldn’t let me, now let me see the pictures.” I didn’t know if he was lying or not, so on the way here, I texted him saying to bring pictures.

“Here,” He tosses me three pictures. I scan them slowly. One of them is Niall and I eating ice cream and laughing at each other. Another one is Niall giving me a piggy back ride and me trying to hold on for dear life. The last one is Niall pushing me on the swings and again, we are laughing at each other. I can see why people would think we are dating. In these photos, it looks like a boyfriend and girlfriend just enjoying a day at the park while eating ice cream, giving piggy back rides, and a boyfriend pushing his girlfriend on the swing sets.

My eyes widen and I tear the photos apart, one by one until they are all little tiny scraps. I get the remains and throw then in the nearby trash can. Proud of my work I look back at my Dad.

“Trust me kid, we have a ton more copies back at the office.” My Dad smirks.

“Ugh! What do you want!” I scream. By now, I don’t really care who hears me and I don’t care if Harry’s in the car listening to everything that’s going on.

“I want a secret.” He whispers.

“But- I… it’s cause-“

He groans “Allison.” I glare at him.

“Ugh fine!” I yell and recite the whole Zayn story to him, but quietly because we still have Harry in the car. Throughout the story, my Dad starts freaking me out. One, he kept smiling which is weird because my Dad never smiles. Two, I swear I heard him squeal one time. And three, he’s old. Okay, maybe the last one was irrelevant, but still, ya know.
