“We are going out tonight.” Harry states the next day at breakfast.
I raise an eyebrow “Oh really?”
Harry takes a bite out of my waffle “Yes really.”
“And where to may I ask?”
“That I can’t tell you.” Harry smiles before leaving and going up to his room.
After saying goodbye to Alexa last night, I couldn’t sleep. I thought about what she said about everyone having a choice and what not. I mean, yeah I have a choice but the only one I have is to keep going with this. If I don’t do this I can kiss away my chance of ever leaving this place and going to college.
Then I thought about the other thing she said.
When am I telling the boys?
My Dad never told me how long I have to keep this up. He only said a couple of weeks, but how many?
I know the boys are going away in a month, so it has to be before that right?
I mean, he can’t expect me to go on tour with them right? I also have a life Dad. And school.
“Hurry up!” Harry yelled to me
“I'm trying jeez!” I laughed making sure not to trip on anything “It doesn't help when I'm wearing this blindfold!”
Harry laughed
“Where are we anyways?” I asked tightening grip on Harry's arm
“It's a surprise.”
“Harry, I think we've dated long enough to know that I hate surprises.”
“I know. That's the only reason I do it.”
“So can you please tell me where we are then?”
“Nope.” he laughed. I just groaned and stayed quiet trying not to lose my footing on this dirt.
I hope we get there soon because I really need to text my Dad.
“Okay!” Harry stops making me bump into him “We're here.” Harry placed me in what I think is in front of him and took my blindfold off.
I gasped at the sight in front of me.
It was Cliff Awesome, but it looked different.
Today's sky was really pretty considering it was a sunset. There were colors of red, orange, and some pink illuminating the sky's light.
I've never seen the cliff this pretty considering I only come in the mornings when the suns up, or in the nights, when the stars are shining the sky.
Then I notice the picnic blanket laid out so we can see the sunset at a beautiful angle.
All of a sudden, the tree lit up. Not in fire or anything, but it lit up in Christmas lights. From head to toe lit up. There wasn’t a single branch that wasn’t shining with light.
I turn around and look at Harry to find him already looking down at me.
“Did you do all of this?” I ask not able to believe it
Harry nods “Yeah.” He shows me his hands which are all scratched up “It was a little hard trying to climb it though. It’s a pretty big tree.”
My mouth drops and my heart melts.
“I thought this was the perfect spot considering this is where we first met and all.” Then he closes my mouth with his hand “This is also where I told you to never leave your mouth open unattended.”
Even though that was a pervy joke, I don’t care, and I hugged Harry.
“Thanks.”
He hugged me back “No problem.”
The rest of the day consisted of Harry and I sprawled out on the blanket watching the sunset and when the moon came out, we counted the stars.
“Get up.” Harry told me and I did as he said. He went behind the tree and brought out two things.
The first one was a little CD player… well, more like Harry’s iPod connected to the CD player.
The second one was a rose.
Harry put the CD player next to the tree and after scrolling through his iPod, he pressed play.
The song A Drop In The Ocean by Ron Pope played and Harry came over handing me the rose.
I smiled “Why thank you. But I don’t know how to dance.” I admitted shyly.
Harry smiled “That’s exactly why I’m here.”
He took my hands and placed them on his neck while he put his hands on my waist.
After stepping on his feet a few times, I think I got the hang of it!
I rested my head on Harry’s chest, enjoying the moment.
“Hey Harry?” I asked
“Yes?”
“Thanks… again. No one’s ever done anything this nice for me.”
I could almost imagine him smiling “Then no one’s ever known how lucky they are.”
“Actually, I’ve never had a boyfriend before.” I admitted
Harry looked down at me “Really?”
I looked down blushing “Uh, yeah kind of.”
Harry brought his hand under my chin and lifted my head up and kissed me.
After a couple of seconds, much to my dismay, Harry pulled away and rested our foreheads together. “Then I’m glad I’m number one.”
Harry stared into my eyes for a couple more seconds before speaking again.
“Hey Ally?”
“Yeah?”
Harry took a huge breath in “I… I think I’m in love with you.”
And I froze.
No.
No!
Harry can’t be in love with me!
He can’t!
This isn’t how it’s suppose to happen.
We were suppose to come tonight, dance with each other, and leave. Not come tonight, dance and say we love each other.
I… I can’t tell him I love him.
I don’t.
At least not yet…
And I can’t lie to him either!
So I did the only thing I thought of.
I let my arms fall by my sides.
I let the rose fall out of my hands.
I muttered something about not being able to do this right now.
And I ran away.
Away to the only person that I thought could help me right now.
My Daddy.
